Powerful.. Joshua Dyer (aged 14) was tasked at school to write a poem for Remembrance Day. An hour later (without any help) he produced this..
ONE THOUSAND MEN ARE WALKING
One thousand men are walking
Walking side by side
Singing songs from home
The spirit as their guide
They walk toward the light milord,
they walk towards the sun
they smoke and laugh and smile together
no foes to outrun.
These men live on forever
in the hearts of those they saved
a nation truly grateful
for the path of peace they paved.
They march as friends and comrades
but they do not march for war
step closer to salvation
a tranquil steady corps
the meadows lit with golden beams
a beacon for the brave
the emerald grass untrampled
a reward for what they gave.
They dream of those they left behind
and know they dream of them
forever in those poppy fields
there walks one thousand men

Lest we forget
This has to be shared. An incredible poem from 14 year old Joshua Dyer.

Rory, our beloved dog, has a charming habit every morning when I serve him breakfast. First, I let him outside to take care of business while I prepare his meal—filling his food bowl and refreshing his water. Once I let him back inside, he rushes straight to his bowl, examines the food, and instead of eating right away, he walks over to me. He lowers his head and gently rubs his body against my ankle and shin, gazing up with his warm brown eyes as if to say, "Thank you for the breakfast." After this sweet moment, he returns to his bowl and begins eating. This gesture wasn’t taught to him; he began doing it on his own soon after we adopted him, and it has continued for the past seven and a half years.

The Quiet Grace of Keanu Reeves

Keanu Charles Reeves arrived twenty minutes late to his own wrap party at a New York club celebrating the completion of his latest film.

He stood quietly in the rain, waiting his turn like everyone else.

Nobody at the door knew who he was.

Later, the club owner reflected: "I had no idea Keanu was out there in the rain. He never mentioned who he was or asked for special treatment."

This moment captures the essence of who Keanu truly is:

He rides the subway and buses like any other commuter, choosing public transportation over luxury cars.

On city streets, he stops to talk with homeless individuals, offering both conversation and assistance without fanfare.

At 60 years old now (born September 2, 1964), he remains refreshingly down-to-earth.

You might find him enjoying a simple hot dog in Central Park, sitting on a bench among fellow New Yorkers, completely unassuming.

After wrapping "The Matrix," he surprised the entire stunt team with brand-new motorcycles, recognizing their exceptional work and dedication.

He voluntarily reduced his own massive paycheck from "The Matrix" sequels, redirecting millions to ensure the costume designers and visual effects artists received fair compensation for their crucial contributions.

For "The Devil's Advocate," he took a significant pay cut so the production could afford to cast Al Pacino alongside him.

Yet perhaps most remarkably, when life delivered its cruelest blows—the death of his closest friend, his partner's tragic loss of their child followed by her own death in a car accident, and his sister's leukemia diagnosis—Keanu responded with extraordinary grace.

He donated $5 million to the cancer treatment center caring for his sister, stepped away from Hollywood to be by her side during treatment, and established a private foundation supporting leukemia research, quietly contributing substantial portions of his film earnings to the cause.

Through unimaginable personal tragedy, he chose compassion over bitterness, generosity over self-pity.

**In a world of manufactured celebrity personas, Keanu Reeves simply remains authentically human.**

True character isn't revealed in moments of triumph, but in how we treat others when no one is watching, and how we respond when life tests our very soul.

Some people are born into privilege, but choosing to stay humble and kind—that's a daily decision that defines who we really are.

I just finished the first few chapters of "The Midnight Library," a book I picked up on a whim at the Barnes & Noble in Columbia, MO, this afternoon. I love getting lost in a good story, especially after a long week.
When I closed the book and set it down on my nightstand, a crisp $10 bill fluttered out onto the floor. "Huh," I thought, "that's unexpected." As I bent down to pick it up, I noticed a folded piece of paper tucked deeper into the pages, almost like a bookmark.
I pulled it out and unfolded it. The handwritten note read:
"To the person who finds this:
Hey there! I just wanted to spread a little bit of joy. This past year has been a real roller coaster, and I've learned that sometimes, the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. Please use this ten spot to treat yourself to something that makes you smile. Maybe it's a fancy coffee, a new plant, or even just some good chocolate.
And remember, no matter what you're going through, you've got this. Take care of yourself. Be kind to yourself. You are appreciated.
Warmly, Mark"
Wow. I just sat there for a moment, holding the note and the ten-dollar bill. In a world that often feels chaotic, it's incredible how a complete stranger can reach out and offer such a simple, yet profound, act of kindness. It absolutely brightened my day, and honestly, it's inspired me to pay it forward. People really are amazing.

Well, this is Doug. He was being posted in my local group all day yesterday, running around on the highway. No one claimed him from 7am until 10pm, so I went and got him. It was raining and there was no way I could leave him out in the rain all night.
To top things off, he has a broken leg. Today, he was taken to my vet and we found out his break is one of the worst my vet has ever seen. A splint most likely won’t help, but we’re going to try it and see. Surgery isn’t an option because of how it’s broken. If the splint doesn’t work, we will consider amputation.
Poor dude. I believe he was dumped since no one has come forward for him. He’s not microchipped and is just a baby, probably 7-8 months old.
He was so happy when I got him in the truck that he sighed of relief and fell asleep like “thank god.”
I would also like to take this moment to say that I am also a breeder and I hope this helps to see breeders in a better light. I breed, show, and health test my dogs, but I also help hurt souls like this guy and he will receive the best care, just like my others do💙

everyone's cup of tea (some might even call it a little "tacky" 😉), but I absolutely LOVE how it turned out.
I took my time piecing every bit together, putting a little bit of care into each stitch. It might not be perfect in everyone's eyes, but it brings me so much joy and a real sense of satisfaction. This quilt is a reflection of my effort and a little bit of my creativity, and honestly, I'm super proud of it, no matter what anyone else thinks! 🥰

I’ve lived in the same home 29 years
As a widow the house seemed empty when my pet of 16 years passed away
I rescued “my girls” from the shelter I volunteer at they were transferred from a place that was going to put them down- no one would adopt them together
They were a year old - their whole young life in a box. Now they can feel the wind and sun : watch all the neighborhood wildlife
They are the best companions- fill my house with joy

"The monsoonal rains are here in full swing! While the streets of India might be a bit flooded, our living room has turned into the ultimate cuddle zone. Our rescued dog, 'Daisy,' is usually a bundle of energy, but today she's contentedly snoozing on the rug. And our little stray cat we took in, 'Leo,' has decided my lap is the warmest and driest place to be. Feeling so grateful for these furry companions who make even the gloomiest days brighter. Stay safe and dry everyone!

I adopted this cat from another man. He called her “Puss-Puss". She's a miserable old thing. Couldnt hold her, or pet her with out a painful scratch, a bit or hissing and growling. I felt that “puss-puss” isnt an appropriate name for her so i changed it to MaMa.
I began to buy the miserable old feline a better quality cat food. He was buying the cheapest dry food available her entire life. About six months after changing her diet. She waits for me at the door when I come home from work. She knows her name is Mama, she comes when called, she jumps in my lap and purrs looking for scratches.
