Fairbury, IL Wednesday July 1, 2026.
With a massive number of 79 entries from 10 states submitted from Modified teams throughout the Midwest, Fairbury Speedway staff have officially released the list of drivers that will race for the Championship of the Summit Modified Nationals as part of the World of Outlaws Prairie Dirt Classic weekend on July 24th and 25th.
It was earlier announced that only 50 drivers would be selected with 4 additional spots available for the “race your way in” night, however with such a large number of entries, Fairbury Speedway owner Matt Curl increased that number to 54 with (4) drivers pulling double duty. “Honestly the hardest thing I have to do all year is to make a decision how to limit the Modifieds at the PDC. Everyone should be able to experience the PDC, but with the limited pit space, and a large number of Late Models teams heading to the PDC this year, it is just not possible to fit all the haulers in our pit area.”
Drivers that did not make the list of 54 will still have one more chance to race their way into the Modified portion of the PDC on Saturday July 11th as a part of the Richard Craven Memorial $2,012 to win special. Drivers will have the opportunity to race during the full night’s program and the speedway will take the top 4 drivers that night (that signed up to race the PDC) based on their finishing order in the feature, or b-mains.
All drivers that do not make the final list of 58 for the Prairie Dirt Classic will get a full refund of their registration fee. Please check out all the Prairie Dirt Classic information online at www.fairburyspeedway.com.
