Why buy Frozen @ Sea Salmon when fresh is available?
1. To stock up! King Salmon season is very short and only available for limited amount of time. Coho typically have a 3 month window where you can buy fresh, but when you can stock up for the whole year, why not?
2. From the moment a fish leaves the ocean, it essentially starts a clock of โfreshnessโ and begins to break down on a molecular level and is subject to bacterial growth. There are many things you can do to slow this clock down. Properly handling your fish, cleaning and bleeding your catch right away. You can Ice your fish to slow this clock down a lot! To go 1 step further, you can flash freeze your fish and make that clock stop; essentially locking in its peak freshness, maximizing those Omega 3โs and taste.
3. Our Salmon is frozen at such an extreme temperature it is considered Sashimi Grade Salmon, and ideal for sushi and eating raw. Freezing your salmon before consumption kills all parasites when held frozen for the proper length of time. When frozen at -35 or colder like ours, that time is 15 hours. While people have been eating fresh fish for thousands of yearsโฆ there are parasites in every wild-caught fish, just a simple fact. Cooking fish to proper internal temperature eliminates the risk of parasites and is recommended.

Why buy fresh instead? You plan on eating it that night, our you donโt want to wait for our fish to thaw to cut it into portion sizes.
