👉 Use your phone’s camera to snap a quick pic of the top shelf of the wardrobe before you leave. That way, you can double-check that you didn’t leave behind hats, shoes, souvenirs, or that extra stash of snacks! 🍫👒👟

🌹 On this day in 1997, we lost Princess Diana. While in Paris, I visited the Flame of Liberty which became an unofficial memorial for the Princess of Wales after her death in the tunnel beneath the Pont de l'Alma. In 2019, the site was officially named Place Diana (Diana Square). It’s a quiet place where flowers and tributes remind you of just how much she was (and still is) loved.

Do you remember where you were when you first heard the news? I was glued to the tv with my mom and couldn’t believe when the newscaster said she didn’t survive the crash.

💍🌊 Some beaches stay with you forever…

For me, it’s Key West, where I got engaged right on the sand a whopping 23 years ago this month! Two young “kids” not knowing the wonderful memories (and remarkable trips) that were in store in their future. Beaches aren’t just beautiful, they hold our most treasured memories.

✈️ Travel Tip Tuesday ✈️

When booking connecting flights, don’t cut it too close! While that 45-minute layover looks convenient, it can quickly turn stressful if your first flight is delayed, security lines are long, or you need to switch terminals.

For example, if you’re flying into Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport to connect to another flight you’ll DEFINITELY want extra time. Schiphol is a major international hub; big, busy, and sometimes a bit of a maze. Plus you may need to go through passport control or security again. You don’t want to be racing to the gate (ask me how I know😉). Giving yourself a cushion between flights means less rushing, more peace of mind, and maybe even time for a stroopwafel before your next flight.

Travel Tip Tuesday

🇮🇹 Picture this: You’re in Italy on the vacation of your dreams. You just finished a delicious meal and it’s time to pay the bill. Planning to leave a big tip? Hold up cause things work a little differently!

💶 Many Italian restaurants include a “coperto” (cover charge) per person on the bill. It’s not a tip, but rather a fee for table linens, silverware, plates, glasses, and bread. And it’s totally normal!

📝 You might also see a “servizio incluso” line. That’s a service charge already built in. If you don’t see it and had great service, rounding up to the nearest Euro or leaving 1–2 Euros is appreciated but never expected.

💡PRO TIP: Tipping in Italy is done in cash, so keep a few small bills or coins on hand.

✅ Bottom line: Always check your bill first before tipping. No need to double up!
