Route 66 has our whole heart. but if you’re planning to do it, here’s what you need to know

The stops are unhinged 😂 not in a cool art installation way. in a “someone just put a thing here in 1987 and left” way. you will drive a long way to see something very strange and very small and you will feel nothing and everything at the same time. we have seen things we cannot explain. we would do every single stop again 🙌

Route 66 turns 100 this year and we figured there was no better time to drive a stretch of it 🛣️ through old desert towns, past diners that have been there for decades and signs that have probably seen a million road trippers come through!! Route66 is a bit weird nowadays but that’s why we love a good American road trip - you never know what you’ll come across 😂🇺🇸

Nobody tells you before you come to America that your whole idea of “normal sized food” is about to be completely destroyed 😂 We pulled off Route 66 in Winslow because we were a little hungry. Just a little. So I ordered a pretzel thinking yeah that’ll do nicely. Dylan got something else. Smart man as it turns out 😂 What showed up at the table was honestly one of the funniest moments of the whole trip 😭 It was MASSIVE. Like properly massive. Bigger than my face. This was not a snack. This was a personal challenge. The lady brought it over and she didn’t even flinch. Like this was just a completely normal everyday pretzel to her 😂 And maybe it is over here!! Maybe this is just how pretzels work in America and nobody told us!! Dylan just sat there watching me with a massive grin on his face while I tried to figure out where to even start 😭 I ate as much as I could. Which was a lot. Because I was not going to let a pretzel beat me on Route 66. America you really said go big or go home and you meant every single word 🛣️🇺🇸🥨 Never change.
