Key West International Airport Sets Passenger Record, Nears Completion of New Concourse A
Key West International Airport (EYW) closed out 2024 with a historic milestone, recording its highest-ever passenger numbers for December. A total of 143,606 travelers passed through the airport last month, capping off a transformative year for the facility.
Over the course of 2024, EYW served 1,449,649 passengers, a 9.7% increase compared to 2023. Airport officials anticipate continued growth in 2025 as the airport's highly anticipated eight-gate Concourse A nears completion.
“The fact that we’ve been able to serve a 10% increase in passengers while building this new facility is a testament to the hard work of all involved,” said Richard Strickland, Executive Director of Key West International Airport.
Concourse A Construction Update

Key structural milestones have already been achieved, including the completion of the superstructure, glass walls, and roof. The building is now fully enclosed, with ongoing work on interior systems such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. Additionally, drywall installation and the buildout of concession areas are well underway.
