Thirteen years without you. Six years since your story finally found us, and we met the family who loved you first. Four and a half years since we found you. And now, you are finally getting to come home for good.

Everything shifted the moment we got out of that car and stood by your cross on the side of the road.

We carry you with us every single day.

Miss you Brandon.

Megan Trussell's case is currently under review by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. While the CBI continues to look through the case file, Megan's parents, sister, and extended family are continuing to push for answers as well as protect future students.

This summer, they advocated for SB120 wth Senator Janice Marchman, which was successfully passed into Colorado law. This law establishes missing student response protocols for Colorado's public and private colleges and trade schools. It will also change missing person alert training for law enforcement. Under this new law, additional investigative steps must take place within 6 hours of a missing person report being filed.

These steps include:
-Checking Phone Records and Social Media Activity
-Going door-to-door in student residence halls
-Speaking with school staff

If a student is not located, the school must notify law enforcement which then has 8 hours to enter the missing student into Colorado's missing person database.

The journey for answers to what happened to Megan that night are still ongoing. Her family is seeking transparency from law enforcement and county officials to provide records to the family so they can seek third party reviews from experts.

Awareness campaigns continue including bracelet making events.

Danielle Arion Bell should be turning 39 years old today. Instead of celebrating with her sister, Bonnie is pushing for change. When Danielle disappeared almost 25 years ago after being seen at a party in Escambia County, Florida, authorities listed her as a "runaway."

Danielle was 14 years old at the time but had been actively being abused by a 24 year old and had told friends and family that she was pregnant. A lack of investigation has contributed to 25 years without answers to Danielle's whereabouts.

Please sign this petition in honor of Danielle, and light a candle this evening at 7pm in your local time zone. Tag Missing Child Danielle Bell and share.

Danielle, you are loved and missed dearly. You have an entire army looking for you.

Dear Jacob,

We never had the chance to meet you, but somehow you’ve found your way into our hearts all the same.

We came to know you through your big brother, and from that moment forward, you’ve felt present in a way that’s hard to fully explain. Your life here was only nine months long, yet the love tied to your name has carried across decades and into the lives of people who never got the chance to know you.

Your big brother speaks about you with a kind of love that doesn’t fade. There’s pride in his voice when he says your name, and even in the moments where grief shows through, it’s clear how deeply you are still held. He carries you with him, Jacob, every single day. And because he does, we carry you too.

We wish there had been more time. More moments for your family to hold you, to watch you grow, to see the smile we can only imagine. It’s hard not to think about what the world missed in those years. And still, even in that absence, your life has left something behind that remains very real.

You’ve reminded us how quickly life can change, how powerful the bond between siblings can be, and how love continues even when everything else is taken away. Through your story, we’ve also seen what it means to keep going, to keep speaking a name out loud when silence would be easier.

Eric has carried you with him through all these years with unwavering devotion. He has protected your memory, honored your life, and turned his love for you into a voice that refuses to let you be forgotten. That kind of love doesn’t weaken with time. It grows stronger.

Baby Jacob, your life mattered. It still matters. Even though you are not here in the way everyone wishes you could be, your presence is woven into your family and into all of us who have come to know your name.

We see you. We remember you. We will keep speaking your name.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, sweet boy. You were deeply loved then, and you are deeply loved still.

With love,
Whitney & Melissa

Juneteenth is about navigation. Finding your way to freedom when the systems in place were never designed to guide you there. 🖤🌟

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after emancipation was legally proclaimed, enslaved Black Americans in Texas finally received word of their freedom. That delay wasn't an accident. It was the result of systems, power structures, and gatekeepers that stood between a law and the people it was meant to serve.

Navigating advocacy means understanding that the path is rarely straight. It means knowing where the barriers are, who holds the information, and how to move people, and systems, toward justice anyway.

Today we honor every person who had to navigate impossible circumstances to claim what was rightfully theirs. May their resilience remind us why we keep showing up.
Happy Juneteenth. 🖤

We light this candle to honor Eric Nelams.

Today he should be celebrating his 55th birthday, however his life was taken much too soon.

On September 26, 2003, Eric was shot outside of his home in Phenix City, Alabama. Witnesses saw multiple people running away from the scene yet no arrests have been made.

Please join us in lighting a candle to honor Eric and share a photo on social media to help spread awareness that after over 22 years his family is still fighting for justice.

Memorial Day carries stories that live far beyond history books.

Today, Memorial Day stands as a national reminder of the lives lost in military service and the families forever changed by that sacrifice.

Behind every flag placed at a cemetery is a name. A family. A future altered forever.

As we gather with loved ones this weekend, may we also take time to remember those who gave everything and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.
