Been in the Killeen area since Archie’s was doing 39-cent burgers, so I’ve seen a lot of spots come and go. But Galaxy B&G? That place hits different.

It’s like your childhood, an arcade, and a burger joint all mashed into one. You walk in and boom—retro games, a cereal bar, Star Wars everywhere, and vibes for days. Jabba the Hutt and Darth Vader are literally posted up like they own the spot.

And the food? Wild. Burgers stacked high, fries that don’t miss, and a menu full of “what even is that but I’m ordering it.” My favorite? The Dark Side burger. Spicy. Messy. Perfect.

They even got featured on The Texas Bucket List, so it’s not just local hype—they’re out here making noise across the state.

It’s BYOB, open late on weekends (til 3 a.m.), and honestly one of the few places left in Killeen that’s got real character.

If you got caught with almost 3 pounds of coke, mushrooms, m**h, ecstasy, and cash in Killeen, crime ain’t your lane.

You wasn’t built for this. Chick-fil-A hiring.

You lost all that? Jail not your punishment. It’s your safe space.

And Love Court? Bruh, that sound like a street in a rom-com, not where you catch a felony.

Stick to selling candles or sneakers. Ain’t nobody pulling up over a missed Etsy order.

The most important lesson learned here is drugs are bad.

🚨 INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY: A man was found dead inside a dumpster this morning in the 1500 block of N. 8th Street in Killeen. Officers arrived around 9:46 a.m. and confirmed there were no visible signs of trauma. An autopsy has been ordered.

Police say there is no known threat to the public at this time.

📹 If you live or work nearby, killeen police detectives are asking you to check your security footage for any people or vehicles seen in the area over the past two days.

🚨 HEADS UP: If you’re in Killeen on I-14 heading toward Belton or already on I-35 Northbound — expect major delays. A Waste Connection trash truck flipped between the I-14 overpass and Central Ave. First responders are on scene working to clear it. Plan a different route if you can.

WORTH THE DETOUR

Tried out Slumber Rollz today and this spot is 🔥. It’s a little pink building with BIG flavor. Think Texas-sized cinnamon rolls—but not just sweet. I’m talking chicken melt roll, burger roll, apple pie roll, and the classic cinnamon roll that started it all. 👏

They’re in soft opening right now (drive-thru only, 8AM–7PM), but it’s already clear this place is gonna be a hit. Family-owned, locally run, and already putting in work.

The Army is overhauling NCO schools to cut costs, which means big changes for current and future leaders. For E5s, courses like ALC and SLC are expected to be shortened to just three weeks, making it easier to attend but placing more pressure on units to train leaders back home. At the same time, BLC will be extended from three to six weeks, giving E4s on the verge of becoming NCOs more time to learn leadership fundamentals before stepping into those roles. The goal is to save money while still developing capable leaders, but it also means Soldiers will need to take more responsibility for their own growth once they’re back in the unit.

As of 7:45 PM on July 13, the Lampasas River has surged to 40.11 feet — a massive spike over the past 24 hours, confirmed by USGS data.

📸 The image below shows just how serious it is. Water is pushing well into the trees and creeping up near the bridge railings.

⚠️ If you’re in the area near Ding D**g, TX, avoid low crossings and stay alert. Do not try to drive through floodwaters — it’s not worth the risk.
