So... about the superhero costumes... 🦸🦸‍♀️

It all started with a dream Butch had. Long story short, he and Lydia were selling houses dressed like superheroes.

Although he doesn't particularly like being on camera, he couldn’t shake it, so we decided to run with it.

So with Butch's 25 years in law enforcement as former Chief of Police in Killen, AL combined with Lydia's 20+ years of real estate experience in the Shoals, maybe being real estate superheroes isn't such a stretch after all.

Creating these videos and seeing the encouragement from our friends, family, and community has made every out-of-our-comfort-zone moment worth it.

We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait to show you what’s coming next!

A few behind-the-scenes photos and videos from filming “The Case of the Unleashed Dog!” 🐶🤣

We’re pretty sure Butch wasn’t expecting to be attacked by the neighborhood security team when we showed up to film this one. 🤣

If you know us, you know we LOVE dogs. We raise and train German Shepherds at home, so having dogs around is definitely nothing new for us. And with Butch’s years in law enforcement, he’s had plenty of experience around working dogs over the years.

But this time, Ellie decided to put her acting skills to work. 😂 We think she did a pretty great job!

After 25 years in law enforcement, former Killen Police Chief Butch Collins has traded in his badge... but he's still solving cases.

Welcome to the first episode of our new series with Butch & Lydia Collins 🦸 🦸‍♀️

This time, the case takes us to a home inspection. We can point out the obvious things, but that's exactly why we always recommend hiring a professional home inspector before buying a house. They know what to look for that most of us would never notice.

SB 292, the Alabama Property Protection Act, has been signed into law by Governor Ivey as Act 2026-536.👏 This legislation is a major step forward in protecting property owners from title fraud, where criminals impersonate owners to sell or encumber property without their knowledge. The Act adds both prevention measures and faster remedies to detect fraud early, clear title, restore ownership, and prosecute offenders. It also requires identity verification at key stages of listing, selling, and transferring property.

The Act strengthens criminal penalties for fraudulent property transfers, establishes the Alabama Title Fraud Recovery Fund to support victims, and provides an expedited court process to restore ownership of fraudulently obtained property. It also allows probate judges to implement notification systems that alert property owners when documents affecting their property are filed.

Recent data shows that title fraud frequently targets mortgage free, vacant, or unimproved properties in rural areas.

The Alabama Property Protection Act of 2026 was supported by the Alabama Bankers Association, Southeast Land Title Association, Alabama Land Title Association, and Alabama REALTORS®. Thank you to Governor Ivey and members of the Alabama Legislature for their leadership in protecting Alabama property owners.
