We are sad to announce that Steve Grainer, our PSA Community Director and Morning Host here at WIGO Country, passed away June 26th. Steve was a valued member of our team for over eight years. On Weds, June 11th, Steve was admitted to St. Maryโ€™s Hospital in Richmond, where he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive, malignant brain tumor.

After his retirement from a career in Emergency Services, Steve had returned to radio, a skill he had learned and loved at his college radio station WMRA (JMU). During his tenure with Two Rivers Communications, he worked on live remote broadcasts, music events, and managing our community calendar events feature. His absence is felt among all of us and we will not forget him or his contribution to our stations and broadcasting.
