Forward progress of the fire has been stopped, and firefighters continue to make good progress on the incident. Crews are actively building and strengthening containment lines around the fire to secure the perimeter and prevent further spread.

Fire resources will remain on scene working toward full containment.

🚨 NEW INCIDENT 🚨

Firefighters are currently responding to a vegetation fire in South Monterey County, just east of the City of Greenfield.

Initial reports indicate approximately 15 acres burning in light, flashy fuels, with the potential to grow to 25 acres. Ground and air resources are actively engaged in suppression efforts.

Please avoid the area and use caution while traveling nearby to ensure the safety of first responders and the public.
