FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESS SECRETARY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“HARRY POTTER, A JOURNEY THROUGH FILM: THE EXPO” PREMIERES AT TREDYFFRIN LIBRARY IN STRAFFORD, PA
Strafford, Pennsylvania, (July 1st, 2016) – Today (7/1/2016) AKSM Touring’s latest tour premiered at the Tredyffrin Library in Strafford, Pennsylvania. Entitled “Harry Potter, A Journey Through Film: The Expo” will run at the Tredyffrin Library from July 1st through the 31st in honor of the fictional character’s birthday as well as the release of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ book launch which is set for July 31st.

The exhibit contains many of the iconic sets, props and costumes that were created especially for the films. The AKSM Touring team behind “Harry Potter: A Journey Through Film” wanted to preserve and showcase these iconic props, costumes and sets so that Harry Potter fans could experience the magic of filmmaking first-hand. Many of the cast and crew of ‘Harry Potter and The New York Psycho’ – a hit parody of the iconic series – returned to see the iconic set pieces and props as well as share their memories from filming the day before, and on July 1st, 2016, the expo officially opened its doors at the Tredyffrin Library.

The expo cumulates in a “Yule Ball” gala event hosted by the Tredyffrin Library on July 23rd, 2016. Many AKSM Film Studios cast and crew members will be in attendance as well as members of the 2015 American Music Abroad Bronze Tour of Europe and members of the Conestoga High School Performing Arts Classes of 2012 to 2018.

Produced by AKSM Touring LLC, the expo offers visitors the unique opportunity to explore original set pieces, costumes, make-up and props.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON FILMING OF "COLONIAL KIDS", "TURN", AND "THE PRINCE" IN COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG:
That’s right, "Colonial Kids", "The Prince" and "TURN" are reTURNing (pun intended) to Williamsburg and will be filming in the Historic Area Monday, Nov. 9. Guests planning to visit the Revolutionary City may be impacted, so let me walk you through some of the changes taking place.
AKSM and AMC crews will be in town very very early in the mornings on Mondays and Fridays, with filming set to begin around 6 a.m. and continuing through 6 p.m. Since "The Prince" only films in the Williamsburg Inn, only areas in and around the immediate surroundings will be affected by this film. As for "Colonial Kids" and "TURN", various parts of the Historic Area will be impacted and some sites may be closed completely.
BOTETOURT STREET TO THE CAPITOL:
The following sites will be closed in this area:
Charlton Coffeehouse
Charlton Stage (programming is moving to the Palace Stage)
Millinery Shop (only in the morning, will reopen during the afternoon hours)
The Apothecary, Wig Shop, Raleigh Tavern, Raleigh Tavern Bakery, Silversmith, Golden Ball, Tarpley’s and Kings Arms Tavern will all remain open. Guests can access these sites via back or side doors from Nicholson and Francis streets. Interpreters will be on hand to help guests find their way into the buildings from the unfamiliar locations.
MARKET SQUARE:
Last season, Market Square was used in "Colonial Kids" and to show the Philadelphia skyline on "TURN" and all of the British soldiers occupying the city. Both AKSM and AMC will be filming in this area once again, primarily at the Courthouse, however, much of Market Square will be closed in the afternoon beginning around 1 p.m.
The following sites will be closed in this area:
The Courthouse
The Magazine
The Market House will not open for the day until around 3 p.m., so plan your shopping at our new building in the late afternoon!
Due to the filming all day, the following programs have been canceled entirely for Mondays and Fridays:
Revolution in the Streets
An Officer’s Message to the People
RevQuest: Save the Revolution!
There will also be no carriage rides at all Monday. Musket demonstrations will continue at the Military Encampment, however, the muskets will not be fired. Certain events and special activities at the Williamsburg Inn will also be suspended. Please check our online calendar for a list of all programming that will still take place.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience but I hope you enjoy catching a glimpse of the production! A lot of work goes into this by AKSM Films, AMC, and Colonial Williamsburg and it’s a lot of fun to watch. It’s even better to watch "Colonial Kids", "TURN" and "The Prince" and spot our town!
Very Sincerely,
-Rachel West (Colonial Williamsburg Production Coordinator to AKSM Inc.)

Our Story

AKSM Media is the child company of AKSM Inc. which was founded in 2011 by our CEO, Andrew McKeough. AKSM started with just the AKSM Press which would publish stories and papers. It soon began to evolve with the addition of AKSM Film Studios and AKSM Touring LLC. Both additions saw a influx of clients and talent growth. Both additions were created when Andrew wanted to give students who had a passion for a career in the entertainment industry a way to live their dreams. From making movies to recording albums, the talent - called “AKSM Members” - did it all. When Andrew had thought success had its max, he had the idea of creating a fully operational photography studio and media group called AKSM Photography. AKSM Photography would become AKSM’s largest success story and was able to bring the AKSM mission to clients from Villanova to Washington, DC and New York City. That’s where we are today. A team of dreamers who never stop dreaming and living their dreams who are here to innovate, inform and inspire. So…what’s left to say? Join us!
