Clayton and Cody are headed to practice the next two lakes on the circuit this weekend. The tournaments are to be held the following weekend and are back to back competitions on Saturday and Sunday both beginning at 6:00 AM and running until 2:00 PM.

Neither have fished on either lake and look to learn a lot this weekend familiarizing themselves with each lakes characteristics and vegetation. Both lakes hold 5 pound plus bass so let's hope lady luck favors them and tightens their lines with some lunkers!

Went and fished Clark county state fishing lake today. Wasn't on the water for long with the wind putting up some crazy swells, but I did snag this largemouth using a ¾oz Shakey head rigged with a missile baits D-Bomb in black and blue. The lake is still recovering from the dam repair last year and is sitting around 10 ft below nominal level. This put most of the ideal fishing cover well above the water line but also provided an opportunity to understand what will be beneath the water once it's back to normal.

This is a very scenic lake and well worth the trip to either fish or just camp and hike. An advantage to the low water level is the amount of exposed bank fishing without any tree clutter. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Well our first tournament is in the books and we are happy with the results. Had two largemouths for weigh-in which put us in 9th place of 16 competitors. We learned a lot about ourselves and how to approach a competitive fishing event while still having fun searching for and pulling in fish. We landed a couple other bass that were under the 15 inches minimum length and were pretty stoked when Clayton pulled in a 2 ½ pound crappie. Cody almost had a northern Pike but was able to save his lure and line and pulled away before it was set. We are looking forward to the next event and will do some things different. One thing is for certain though is we will still have a blast no matter what the end result is.

Due to the governor's order we will be canceling the Kid's fishing day scheduled for the 6th of June. The event will be moved to a later date, but we do not know when it will be yet. Please bare with us and we will make this happen.

For you boat owners out there here's a diy project you will thank me for if you haven't heard about it already. Dock Sticks... No more fiddling around with lashing your boat to a dock with rope with these nifty tools.

Simply put it's 2 14"x3/4" pvc, 2 32" bungee cords, and 4 rubber furniture feet pads with the centers cut out.

Secures your boat and keeps it from bumping and banging against the dock and takes a couple seconds to attach and detach. Takes up little to no room in the boat, which is worth is weight in gold, and takes all of 15 minutes to make. Only thing I'm going to change is make my front stick 3" longer due to the shape of my boat.
