Today, we join together as a nation to pause, reflect, and lift our voices in prayer. This isn’t just a tradition; it’s a vital part of the American story that reaches back to our very beginning.

📜 Our Heritage of Prayer
The roots of this day are woven into the fabric of our country’s foundation.

1775: Before the Declaration of Independence was even signed, the Continental Congress issued a call for a national day of prayer, seeking wisdom and guidance for a new nation.

1863: During the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln called for a day of prayer and fasting, recognizing a total dependence on God’s grace.

1952: Prayer became a permanent annual observance when President Harry S. Truman signed it into law.

1988: President Ronald Reagan designated the first Thursday of every May as the official National Day of Prayer.

Easter reminds us: what looks like the end is often the quiet beginning of God’s greatest work. When darkness fell and hope seemed gone, Heaven was already preparing resurrection. 🙌 “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen.” — Luke 24:5–6
Take a Mindful Moment:
Take three slow breaths. With each breath, release something that feels buried, broken, or unfinished. On the third breath, whisper: “God is still working.”
Jesus, thank You for meeting us in the silence between despair and hope. When we can’t see the miracle yet, help us trust Your timing. Teach us to wait with faith, knowing resurrection is never late. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏
