Started our newest commercial property at the Villas at Camden Woods today. Unfortunately we have to close the pool down for the weekend due to very high CYA levels. We will have to drain some of the water down and refill to dilute CYA to make the water healthy again. We should have it back open Monday.

Did you know high CYA (stabilizer) levels can be indirectly dangerous because they reduce chlorine's effectiveness, which can lead to microbial growth and waterborne illnesses. This is known as chlorine lock. This is caused by constantly using chlorine tablets. So make sure you check your CYA levels periodically.

A customer requested a filtration system that was easier to maintain, clean, and had lower annual filter replacement costs. We recommended a Pentair sand filter, which requires cleaning every other week and sand replacement about every five years. Following installation, we provided instructions on proper cleaning procedures for their new filter, considering their specific system requirements and maintenance frequency. The customer expressed satisfaction and enthusiasm about the simplified filter cleaning process.

After the liner replacement, the company filled the pool with water from a shallow well on the property, which contained high levels of iron and other minerals. Our team assessed the situation on the 9th and commenced work on the 10th. Rob applied specialized chemicals to address the iron and mineral presence, allowing them to circulate over the weekend. Upon returning on Monday afternoon, he found that the minerals had settled and proceeded to vacuum the pool to waste, successfully removing the iron. The customer has a beautiful healthy pool to enjoy now.

As a family-owned and operated business, Jen handles administrative tasks, Rob oversees field operations, and their children, James and Kaytlynn, are involved in residential maintenance and business development. A customer had a pool constructed, but the plumbing was not completed. The existing single return located near the skimmer was insufficient for proper circulation. Rob rectified this issue by installing two additional returns to enhance circulation and promote healthier water conditions. He laid over a hundred feet of PVC piping and successfully connected the customer's pump and sand filter. Plans are in place to install a main drain and complete the plumbing during the winter season.
