I know I’m super silent on social media and that’s not “good business practice,” but I just wanted to reach out and thank my clients publicly. I think it can be difficult to have someone come into your home and suggest changes to help improve efficiency and order but it can also be promising and exciting at the same time.
I love doing consultations and offering ideas that will actually help YOU make the changes YOU can make to reach the goals you have in mind to help bring some order to certain areas of your home life.
I also enjoy setting up your kitchen. So if you are moving, or just need some adjustments to help your kitchen flow easier, reach out, I’m happy to help.

When you have a task to do, that is the “work.” Don’t make your task more difficult by having a hard time finding what you need.

"Whenever you organize a space for its intended purpose, you are priming it to make the next action easy. Oswald Nuckols (an IT developer from Natchez, MS) understands the power of priming his environment." He follows "a strategy he refers to as 'resetting the room.' For instance when he finishes watching TV, he places the remote back on the TV stand, arranges the pillows on the couch, and folds the blanket. When he leaves his car, he throws any trash away....... The purpose of resetting each room (or any area) is not simply to clean up after the last action, but to prepare for the next action." Nuckols states, "When I walk into a room everything is in its right place. Because I do this every day in every room, stuff always stays in good shape....People think I work hard but I'm actually really lazy. I'm just proactively lazy. It gives you so much time back." Atomic Habits, James Clear pg 156

Staying organized does actually give you time. Once a system is in place, you are not running around looking for items because they are where they "should be." Life changes and we need to continuously subtract when we add tangibles to our homes, but allow yourself to be in the mindset of priming your rooms, cars, offices, and "resetting the room" and you will enjoy your space visually and mentally.

The book, 'Positive Thinking: The Most Efficient Guide on Positive Thinking, Overcoming Negativity and Finding Success & Happiness' by Jack Morris states in Chapter 8, "Positive people do not only maintain a positive mindset and attitude. They also create and maintain a positive atmosphere........ You can start with cleaning up your house....one room at a time...... When you have a clean home, you can feel calmer and more comfortable. On the other hand, if there is clutter everywhere, you can get stressed. You may get stressed out even further if you are not able to find things you need because you do not know where they are."
When I read the word "clean", I inserted the word organize or functional. In my mind they are completely different.

SMEAD Podcast (with Terri Savellefoy 10/17) stated:
6 minutes per day, on average, is spent looking for keys.
55.2 minutes per day looking for items.
2 weeks per year spent looking for items that do not have a "home."
Top 5 items women spend time looking for:
1. Shoes
2. Children's toys
3. Wallet
4. Lipstick
5. Remote control

IKEA(from same Podcast) research discovered that women that have and use shoe organizers are 7 times more likely to be to work on time.

Time is too valuable. You cannot "save time." It is not something you set aside for later. But we can all be more efficient and functional which makes us feel like we are gaining time.

My client today is in the Top Ten kindest, most Christ Centered people to be present on the earth today. We were able to bring peace of mind to each other--this was a good day!
As I sit at my desk and wrap up for the day, one thought I want to express is there is no one "perfect" way to organize. Don't let the fear of approaching a space and knowing perfectly what to do stop you from beginning.

Thinking about selling your house this spring? Now is the time to begin making your house "show ready." A word of financial caution; Do not spend a lot of money on storage baskets, bins, and under the sink organizers. These items may not fit (size or style) in your new home. First, try to simply, declutter, and show off what a functional home you have.
