More about the film:
The Interview, a documentary by Jon Miller and Zach Russo, focuses on a group of formerly incarcerated people who navigated the complex process of applying for—and being granted—parole in New York State. The film gives background regarding the history of the system of parole in NYS and the "punishment era" ushered in by former Gov of NY, George Pataki. The film reveals the heavy toll the process has on incarcerated people and their families. The Interview asks viewers to confront their feelings about justice and redemption while focusing on the stories of people who have been through the parole process and the commissioners who administer it. In a short and direct format, this film highlights the injustices plaguing the NY State parole system.

Nikki Campbell is a boxer and fitness trainer based in New York City, NY. She has brought a savage mentality to pursuing career changes, being a fighter, and teaching her clients. In this short film, Nikki shares her thoughts on her journey as a boxer and trainer, and what being savage means to her.

FROM THE FILMMAKER:
The style and inspiration behind this piece comes from my own relevant experience as a boxer who picked up the sport under the tutelage of Nikki. I have always been a fan of combat sports and being able to partake and learn from fighters has given me valuable experience that would not have received from a traditional gym. My experience in the fighter world has also given me the opportunity to understand how to shoot and craft fighter footage as well as add a thoughtful sound design that really encompasses the emotions one may come in contact with while training. ��

'Louie Two Beards' follows Lou - a former BMX rider, gifted woodworker, and a devoted father - as he faces a brutal diagnosis at just 33 years of age. Lou fights to hold onto his identity, independence, and hope in the face of a rare and aggressive form of smoldering multiple sclerosis. A story of grit, love, family, and the human spirit when the body starts to fail.
