Eastern Wake Love Highlighting the hidden gems of living in Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, and the East Raleigh, NC area Hey there!

My name is Taylor and I am a late 30-something nurse practitioner turned stay-at-home mom. After going through multiple years of the COVID-19 pandemic pregnant and then raising a newborn and a toddler, my husband and I decided to uproot our lives and move from our home state of Virginia to North Carolina to be closer to our families. We chose Knightdale, North Carolina to be our new home. I have s

pent the past year or so exploring the area and have realized what a quaint, underappreciated gem this part of the Raleigh area really is. I felt that during our home search process, getting a feel for a town was such a struggle to do remotely. Thankfully, I only had a three hour drive to come down and tour houses and towns (albeit with an infant and 3-year-old in tow so not really a leisurely touring experience…). However, I have been feeling a calling to highlight the beauty and uniqueness that is eastern Wake County (as well as occasionally other parts of the greater Raleigh area). I look forward to taking this journey with you to soak in some Eastern Wake Love!

Get ready to visit Harper Park for a while, ya’ll.. 🥰

Hey ! The Knightdale Station Park playground is getting a makeover! Renovations will begin April 1st and will effectively close the PSNC Energy Shelter until renovations have been completed. The Splash Pad, Veterans Memorial/Shelter, and Ashley Wilder Dog Park will remain open.

We understand the timing isn't ideal, and we would have loved to schedule the installation during a period of lower usage. However, playground equipment of this size and type takes months to be built, and the delivery timeline was not flexible. Now that the equipment is arriving, we will need to proceed with installation. We will have some cool new upgrades to the space, including new equipment, improved safety features, and fresh landscaping coming that we know you all will love!

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to enjoy the playgrounds at Harper Park and Mingo Creek Park while we work on upgrading the Knightdale Station Park playground. The estimated completion is June 2025.

We apologize for the inconvenience but appreciate your patience as we update our playground.

Please share this with your and friends!

We spent a good chunk of our day exploring the Annie Louise Wilkerson, MD Nature Preserve Park, managed by Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department.

This park is so pretty! Between their woodland fairy village, incredibly helpful staff that helped us borrow their fairy backpacks, and the pretty trails, it was the perfect way to spend an autumn day with family. 🥰

I’ve gotten a few questions lately like this:

Friend: “So, how’s the blog going?!?”

Me at 10:20pm: “Slow going… but look at this C Clever Cat headband I just made for my daughter’s Letterland Parade tomorrow!” 😻😂

Mom life vs. personal ambition can be a tough balancing act of which I’m still working through. But love my Eastern Wake neighbors and towns all the same! 🫶
