This is a great interview! Jenny Frye Bushkell always is an amazing host and Lauren is a wonderfully talented young woman!
Lauren Havel is a delightful 20-year-old award-winning filmmaker who has already directed, shot, and edited three professionally distributed feature films, and is helping lead her Gen -Z generation and others back to faith. Recognized as the youngest filmmaker on record to direct, shoot, and edit three professionally distributed feature films, Lauren has built a body of work that defies industry expectations.
Her debut feature, titled “Screened In” earned the Young Filmmaker Award at the 2021 Christian Worldview Film Festival. Her second feature, “Not Broken”became one of the most-watched releases in her distributor’s history with millions of views worldwide and a profit on a $10,000 budget, landing in the top tier of independent film performance.
Her newest film, “The Ground Beneath Our Feet” premiered in Franklin, TN in February and is resonating because it articulates what many leaders see daily - a generation deeply disconnected, quietly searching, and spiritually starved, yet they are open to faith when it’s presented with humility and truth. Hear about her mother, Jennifer Havel - the writer behind Lauren’s films, including “I Hate Kate” the true story of Jennifer’s own childhood bullying. It went viral on YouTube and garnered over 7.5 million views. Discover more at laurengracefilms.com and on social media.
