I had the opportunity to pick Paul Greengrass‘s brain a bit on things that I picked up on with the The Uprising

Is it a “Robin Hood” film? In my opinion, no, and it’s quite clearly a storytelling of a fictional character to place us in the heat of the 1381 revolt, but there’s certainly an energy or shared mentality of the legend that I believe is used to inspire the common man. While it follows the historical points closely, it also is simultaneously is showing how actions in history evolve legends in real time.

While this film is technically historical fiction, I believe it will resonate with the viewer and inspire people to learn the history, which is both an inspiring and dangerous thing to do.

The Uprising is available in theaters TODAY, 9/10!

Linseed oil, lampblack, red ochre, resin, were all mentioned additives to the beeswax. other improvements or alternatives were different types of wood, specifically softer, and without knots, and then mention that you really only need chisels to score and carve. Thank you for those who chimed in!

When I tell you, this was my favorite performance I have seen from him… Paul Greengrass likes to tell stories from the perspective of an individual in that era or story he is covering. Your placed in a firsthand experience almost. You’re not necessarily seeing it from the viewpoint of a “main character” in terms of the larger names we would recognize in the history, but rather as if the main character of the film is an everyday person. I think that’s what makes his performance all the more relatable, gripping, heart-wrenching, and inspiring.

You can hear the passion in Andrew‘s voice. I encourage you to watch this film, it comes out this Thursday in movie theaters only!

Andrew Garfield and Paul Greengrass were so gracious, too, and it was just the best experience.

I brought, in spirit, my many friends in this realm. All of my creator friends and LARPers. I wore as often as I could pieces from Handmade Medieval and Fantasy Clothing Armour And Castings and FakeSteel Armory and enjoyed getting to talk about them.

Wax Tablet: This is a fun, low-cost craft, especially if you already have a lot of the tools. I wish I would’ve had enough time to make two, but it was a whirlwind of a trip out there to interview Andrew Garfield and Paul Greengrass for their upcoming movie The Uprising

I’d like to try my hand up making more of these. I asked my friends on Facebook if they knew what I could add to add the different colors that I’ve seen, and to improve the texture so that there’s less waxy buildup and more of just a smooth indentation. As usual, they came through. So I’m excited to try some things out in the future.
