Here's the latest model guidance on the storm track. A low will be forming and moving up out of the south Wednesday through Thursday.
Remember that the track of the storm and timing are essential for us to see snow. It's an ideal track to help pull colder air into the region to form snow. But, if this shifts further east, we don't see as much.

Okay... let's talk snow. Here's a depiction of 3 different models. My in-house 15km, the American Model (GFS) and the National Weather Service Blend of Models (NBM). The 15km in-house model shows a more likely scenario, giving us the classic horseshoe of East Tennessee. However, the NBM and GFS and the EURO are all showing signs of a bit more snowfall.
This right here is why I cannot issue official snowfall totals just yet. I need to see what the models do today, tonight and the next couple of days.
You'll definitely want to check back in this week.

Alright my friends... here we go!
It's chilly today with a few flurries and wind chills in the 20s and 30s. Monday and Tuesday are fantastic. But, come Wednesday and Thursday, a storm moves in bringing us the best opportunity for snow so far this season. And.... another storm potentially next weekend.

We're back in the freezer today!
Highs will only climb to the 30s, so not much of a warm up from this morning. But, the wind will be blowing, making it feel like the 20s and 30s all day long. We'll have the clouds through the late morning to early afternoon before they clear out.

The National Weather Service has a WIND ADVISORY in place for the mountains until 7pm tonight. Winds could be gusting to 45 mph, creating wind chills in the single digits and teens.
