s. In late summer and early fall, I often sat in a wooden swing that hung from the barn's rafters, and I cracked walnuts from a nearby tree. I set them on the tack room step, where Bell wagged her short tail and waited for her seasonal treat. With over 400 clients served and more than almost 200 books published, I wake up early and eager every day to help creative people tell their stories. I have found my calling, but becoming the leader of a growing team of 10+ talented individuals (with a network of 65 talented contributors), running a digital and in-person business, and guiding writers to become published authors wasn't an easy, overnight shift. I was a banker, then a teacher, then a banker again, then a freelance ghostwriter and editor before I finally went “all in” to launch Crippled Beagle Publishing. My career has followed a true story arc, with big moments, business pivots, drama, humor, success, and countless lessons learned. Humbling failures and urgent decisions sometimes made me doubt my path forward, just like any writer can understand. Entrepreneurs and authors are risk takers. But looking back over the years, I am now profoundly thankful for every chancy decision, blooper, blunder, and blessing. In addition to my work as founder and CEO of Crippled Beagle Publishing and Story Mountain Media, I am honored to serve as the Chapter Co-Leader of Women Connect and I'm also a member of both the Independent Book Publishers Association, C12: Christian Business Leadership Forum, and routinely lead or participate in business and writing masterminds. These roles allow me to connect with like-minded individuals and continue to learn, grow, and serve those seeking to tell their stories. I would love to help you tell yours!
