Lockdown at KCSD
April 25, 2025
The Knoxville Police Department notified us shortly before dismissal time that they had received 911 calls regarding a potential threat at the school, so KCSD initiated a lockdown. The KPD gave the all-clear about 4:00 pm and students have been dismissed from all buildings.
Thanks to the swift response and collaboration with the Knoxville Police Department, the potential threat was deemed as not credible. Authorities were able to identify the individual responsible for the call, and an investigation is now underway.
We are incredibly grateful for the rapid action of our local police department, the cooperation of our staff, and the calm and responsible behavior of our students. Everyone followed our safety procedures exactly as trained, helping to ensure the safety of all individuals on campus.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement as the investigation proceeds and will provide updates as appropriate.
