“People come to us on their worst day.”
-Danita McCartney
KARM CEO
What started as a project to raise funds became a powerful and educational video illustrating exactly how Knox Area Rescue Ministries transforms lives in Jesus’ name. Because KARM is an organization that supports people during some of their lowest moments, we wanted to bring the absolute best cinematic storytelling that SONIC PALETTE PRODUCTIONS has to offer. Our project was successful because KARM was willing to be transparent, sharing the full scope of what working with our homeless neighbors looks like in the Knoxville area not just a highlight reel of all the incredible things their ministry does. The stories we shared were full of honesty, dark moments, second chances, and answered prayers.
We were honored and excited to see our project nominated for 4 Emmys and go on to win in every category. The competition is steep: production companies with dozens on staff, sports organizations, television networks, and multi-billion dollar corporations. And then you have the little guys like us: people with incredible stories to share with nothing but a few cameras and pure passion. That’s the beauty of winning these awards. They aren’t the result of more opportunity and means. They’re the result of honed skills, passion, and restoration stories that began with three individuals who came to KARM on their worst day and had their lives restored.
Thank you John Corbin, Donna Decker, and Maria McGuirt who let us share their stories. Thank you to ,Todd Gilbert, .agee , , Amanda Grant, Dr. Danielle Darter, Mychal Spence, Officer Culvahouse, Vicki Hill, and the entire team at KARM for trusting Sonic Palette’s vision. Thank you to Matthew Freels
for being my right hand.
