I’ve been asking myself what I want to do with the next 20 years of my life. My son heads to college next year and I'm going to need something to fill the void of time that will be left in that wake. There are many things I can do since I hold licenses in insurance, real estate, securities, and teaching, but they all feel like part time gigs that I can't seem to devout my full attention to any longer. Basically what I'm saying is I’ve built a career selling hundreds of millions in business. And yet, I feel restless and unfulfilled at age 55. I want something real. Something that impacts people. I don’t measure life by income or titles. I measure it by the lives I touch.

For years I’ve had an idea called Junction 865. A community-based project where local farmers and vendors come together to create a grocery and food bank. A place where kids take meals home from school. Where seniors get meals and prescriptions delivered. Where the focus is service, not the bottom line.
I want my later years to be about loving people well, not chasing commissions. Because in the end, no one remembers your paycheck. They remember how you treated them.
I bring all of this up because I may have stumbled onto a building to make this real. I just needed the courage to take the first step, today I took that first step we'll see where this goes.

Why aren’t we turning abandoned malls into affordable housing communities for young people just starting out with affordable studio and efficiency apartments, and larger units for roommates or young families.
Keep the food courts and movie theaters. Keep a few storefronts for groceries, a pharmacy, a general store, various medical needs, etc. The rest of the stores can be converted into apartments.

or we could just churn out more of the same eye sores popping up everywhere for $2k a mo
