The older I get, the more I think The Matrix wasn’t really about computers.

It was about reality.

Free will. Destiny. Consciousness. The nature of existence itself.

What’s wild is that those same ideas show up in religions and philosophies all over the world… but somehow a sci-fi movie made millions of people start asking the questions.

Was The Matrix ahead of its time? 🤔

What happens when a 41-year-old married guy and a 27-year-old single guy compare notes on dating?

We got into dating apps, MySpace, pickup lines, splitting the bill, unrealistic expectations, $6 gas, and whether modern dating has become too much like scrolling TikTok.

Somewhere along the way we also ended up discussing a date so chaotic it involved a pool party, a missing teenager, and a search across Hollywood.

One theory says the characters, symbols, and mythology were inspired by ancient biblical giants, the Nephilim, and other old-world traditions.

One minute it's a tiny point of light.

The next, it's noticeably closer... bright white-blue... moving in ways that didn't make sense.

Then it took off and kept going until it disappeared completely.

“Someone brought a Smurfs book into church and a Smurf jumped out of the book and ran out of the sanctuary.”

As a kid, people told these stories like they were absolutely true.

Looking back, I have so many questions… but honestly, it’s still a pretty badass mental image.
