The National Weather Service has Howard County under a Winter Weather Advisory from 4 am Friday morning until 4 am Saturday morning. Current predictions show Howard County receiving 2 to 3" of snow. The heaviest snow is expected during Friday afternoon and evening. Howard County is again on the northern edge of this system. If the storm track shifts, snow totals could be affected in our area.

Here is the latest information from the National Weather Service on the snow event for tomorrow and Monday.
Howard County is still under a Winter Weather Advisory. Snow totals from 1 to 5" are expected for our area. It will be windy late Sunday night through Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has updated their forecast for the approaching snow event on Sunday and Monday. Currently, the heaviest snow track is shifting more to the south lowering expected snow totals for the Howard County area. Snow totals for Howard County appear to be in the 3" to 8" range. The potential for drier air moving in may impact snow totals. The drier air moving in is the variable that is unknown at this time and will become clearer as the storm gets closer. Currently, Howard County is under a Winter Storm Watch. That will probably not change until sometime tomorrow. With the snow, winds gusting 20 to 25 mph will occur on Monday. The winds initially will be out of the North / Northeast, then shift and be out of the Northwest.

Stay prepared for poor travel conditions, flash freezing, snow equals and low temps tomorrow evening.

Snow squalls will be possible statewide on Wednesday afternoon and evening. These intense snow bands can cause dangerous travel to those caught inside them.

The National Weather Service has updated the Winter Weather Advisory for our area. The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 pm this afternoon until 10 pm tonight. Expect 1 to 2 inches of new snow with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times from the west/northwest. Plan on slippery road conditions especially on bridges and overpasses.
