Big congratulations to Dominic and Lina Luxton! We danced, sang, and even learned a lot about Russian culture. The floor they did their first dance on was a part of Dominic's childhood, saved and cared for by his grandfather. A truly heartwarming moment.

Happy 😄🥳

This week we get to brag on the one and only Bags! He is our longest standing DJ here at Mid-West Family, and has helped with training each of our DJs! He truly knows his stuff, and brings an undeniable presence and energy that fills every space.

In case you haven't met Bags yet, we had him introduce himself 😊

🤘 I've been known as Bags for a long time. Blame it on 95.7 The Rock

🎧 I've been DJing for over 20 years between night clubs, radio, and events.

✨ I started DJing in 2004 at Marley's in Wisconsin Dells (Now currently called The Reef) where I was their headlining DJ for 5 years.

🎉 Favorite thing about DJing: I'm a student of Monty Python. When life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten. And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. If I can make you do any of those things, then I'm spending my life doing something worth doing. Every event leaves a mark on me in some way. I love being able to bring people together.

🛹 How would you describe your DJ style/personality/signature look behind the booth? I'm very interactive with the crowd. I like to make people feel like we're all in this party together. Every night is like going to your favorite concert. I'm locked in. I'm always thinking 3 songs ahead, weaving in and out of different genres. I look like I can skateboard...... I can't, tho. *shrugs*

🪩 Personal favorite song/go-to song to get everyone on the dance floor: My personal favorite song doesn't come out much, but it's "Jungle Love" by The Time.

🕺 Favorite song to drop in a set: "Give Me Everything" by Pitbull and Ne-Yo is always a banger.

🎶 Favorite genre: I listen to all genre's, but I'll always love rock/metal the most.

🎧 I'm never not DJing. When I'm not doing weddings, I'm on the radio talking about how my children torment me (I love them though). When I'm not doing that, I'm playing music for myself in my kitchen while cleaning.

🎮 What do you do for fun? I'm very outdoorsy, but I love a good video game as well.

🍺 Coffee/drink order: PBR and a shot of Polish blackberry brandy.

✨ Fun fact: I'm an ordained Jedi Minister. Best $30 I ever spent!

Today's is for Lou McCloud! 🥳😁

Lou officially joined us this past Fall, and he brings the Energy wherever he goes. You may have seen him running our photo booth this year already, and tomorrow will be his turn to shine as the DJ! :D

Here is a little about Lou, and if you read to the end you can help him decide on his DJ name!

🏍️ What he does for fun: Trying to enjoy life to the fullest - I hang out with friends, ride motorcycle, go on walks, game, fish, sing karaoke, snowboard, and dance

🎧 How he got into DJing/Why he started: Always loved music, so I started reaching out to people and Mid-West reached back out (bonus fun fact: Miriam met Lou at a wedding she was DJing! He was asking questions about getting started as a DJ, and she asked if he wanted to learn about joining our team! 😁)

✨ Personality behind the booth: Very friendly and outgoing

It's once again! 🥳😁

We would love to introduce you to our newest addition to the team: DJ Wiener (Sam)!!! She just rocked her first event as the official DJ at the beginning of this month, and we are so excited to have her as a part of Mid-West Family!

Here is a little about Sam:

☕ Favorite coffee order: At home-darkest roast black coffee, sometimes with a splash of milk. From a coffee shop: I try something new every time, unless I go to Moka, then I typically get the Jamaican Road Warrior.

🏞️ What she does for fun: I love to be outside - fishing, hiking, hammocking, running, paddle boarding. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family when I can, traveling, hunting, and reading.

💃🏻 Favorite/go-to song to get everyone on the dance floor: Hey Ya! by Outkast

🥳 Personality behind the booth: You will most likely catch me singing and dancing along to the music behind the booth while trying to ensure it's a memorable experience for all!

🎶 Favorite genre: Country, especially 50s-90s country.

🎨 Fun fact: Miriam first met Sam teaching art together this past school year! Selfishly, she wanted to keep Sam, so she hired her 😁
