Sprout the dog was found in the middle of an intersection, so matted she could barely walk. When rescuers brought her in, they removed over 32 pounds of fur, revealing a completely different dog underneath. From the clinic to her foster home and finally to her forever family, Sprout slowly learned to trust again. Her transformation is one of the most incredible recoveries, reminding us that every neglected pet just needs a chance to start over.

This ram came with every challenge in the book: extra horns, awkward angles, zero interest in sitting right, and a whole lot of shifting just when I found my rhythm. With sheep like this, you take what they give you and work around it, keeping calm and keeping the pattern moving.

Once he hit the ground on his side, he finally relaxed, and the difference was instant. It’s been brutally hot here in Texas, and a proper shear makes an immediate temperature change for these animals. Underneath that wool was a clean pattern and a much more comfortable ram.

The last side was the toughest puzzle of horns and balance, but he kept a good attitude and we got through it. One down, thirty more to go.

From dodging horns and tackling gnarly, overgrown fleeces to working with first-timers and curious babies, every moment tested patience, skill, and teamwork. And just when you think it’s over, a sunset rush and a llama that somehow fits in a pillowcase cap off the chaos. Watch the full video to see the complete story, all the surprises, and the moments that make shearing days unforgettable.

Today’s run takes us from smooth Shetland brothers to a full-blown horn parade, a one-eyed ram, tangled dags, and a couple of brand-new clients… all before we finish the day with a half-eared llama. What starts as a ā€œlightā€ shearing day turns into a marathon of travel, Texas backroads, rescue animals, stubborn horns, surprise injuries, and some seriously gnarly wool.
We kick things off in Houston’s suburbs with two chill Shetlands whose fleeces are as gorgeous as they are sticky with lanolin. Then it’s straight into a herd of big, feisty Rams with horns designed to hook, jab, and keep us on our toes. From mystery breaks in the wool to an eye that’s completely gone, this flock keeps the surprises coming.
After a much-needed pit stop, we dive into our rescue llama and alpaca job—babies included. Some stand like pros, some flop like wet noodles, and one even helps me break a cutter (my first in years). But by the end, everyone is shorn, standing, and back to pasture life like the chaos never happened.
If you love sheep, llamas, alpacas, rescues, or just watching us try not to get gored by a pair of spiral horns… this one’s worth the watch.

Fiona was stuck at the bottom of a Scottish cliff for 2 to 3 years; dubbing her 'The Lonilest Sheep in the World'. She was perfectly healthy but her overgrown fleece was needing cut. After being rescued, her postive story made headlines around the world. The next day it was time to restore her to full health with a trip to the salon and finally, to her new home, where she will never be lonely again.
