Todayās run takes us from smooth Shetland brothers to a full-blown horn parade, a one-eyed ram, tangled dags, and a couple of brand-new clients⦠all before we finish the day with a half-eared llama. What starts as a ālightā shearing day turns into a marathon of travel, Texas backroads, rescue animals, stubborn horns, surprise injuries, and some seriously gnarly wool.
We kick things off in Houstonās suburbs with two chill Shetlands whose fleeces are as gorgeous as they are sticky with lanolin. Then itās straight into a herd of big, feisty Rams with horns designed to hook, jab, and keep us on our toes. From mystery breaks in the wool to an eye thatās completely gone, this flock keeps the surprises coming.
After a much-needed pit stop, we dive into our rescue llama and alpaca jobābabies included. Some stand like pros, some flop like wet noodles, and one even helps me break a cutter (my first in years). But by the end, everyone is shorn, standing, and back to pasture life like the chaos never happened.
If you love sheep, llamas, alpacas, rescues, or just watching us try not to get gored by a pair of spiral horns⦠this oneās worth the watch.
