🚨🚔 📢 The men and women of the La Marque Police Association dedicate their lives to protecting this community, often under circumstances that test both their strength and their spirit. A recent air quality survey revealed the painful reality of what our officers face each day: working conditions that have taken a toll not just on morale, but on the well-being of those who have sworn to serve.
📍After these concerns came to light, Association Board members joined other city officials in meeting with the Interim City Manager, Barabara Holly. During that meeting, the City Manager claimed the survey results were “manufactured.” Those words cut deep. They dismissed not just a set of data, but the lived experiences, frustrations, and quiet struggles of real people who continue to show up for this city, even when it feels like the city no longer shows up for them.
📍Despite these hardships, our officers remain steadfast. They continue to answer every call, protect every life, and carry the weight of this community’s safety on their shoulders; all while waiting for leadership to keep its promise of safety for the Officers.
🗓 On September 30, 2025, the City Manager told Association board members that a second survey would be conducted and that a plan for improvement would be in place within two weeks. We have yet to receive meaningful communication or progress has been made. Each day of silence sends a message, one that suggests the concerns of those who serve may not be priority.
📍It is also important to note that when Barbara Holly was receiving these results from the company who conducted the survery, Holly told the business to be very careful about what he says because these people just dont want to come to work. The Association finds this remark retaliatory and unprofessional.
📍This is not about blame. It is about responsibility. It is about compassion, understanding, and the basic respect owed to every person who wears the badge and to every citizen who depends on them.
📍The La Marque Police Association remains committed to working with city leadership to find real, lasting solutions. But we cannot begin to heal what is being ignored. Our officers deserve to be heard. Our community deserves honesty. And our city deserves better.
We believe in La Marque, in its people, its future, and its potential to rise above division and restore trust. It’s time to LISTEN, to ACT, and to REBUILD.
📍It is important to note that since that time, the department has experienced a change in leadership with the appointment of a new Interim Chief. The previous police administration also expressed concern and this current police administration and the Association is hopeful that they will continue to express concern.
🛑 The La Marque Police Association has stood by silently long enough. We will no longer be dismissed, ignored, or disrespected. We will stand up, speak out, and demand the respect our officers have earned. Not through confrontation, but through accountability, transparency, and action.
As an Association, we will always stand to protect the peace of our officers, that they may find strength in their calling, courage in hardship, and comfort in knowing their service is part of something greater than themselves.
