An 18-year-old man has been arrested in Ventura County, Southern California, on charges of selling drugs and cannabis products to middle and high school students.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Oxnard resident Dylan Ruiz (18) is suspected of supplying illegal drugs, cannabis, and ni****ne products to local youth.

The investigation began with a report from a parent who became suspicious of their child's changes.

The parent reported to the police after concluding that their child's behavior had changed significantly and school grades had dropped noticeably following exposure to drugs.

Based on reports that drugs were being distributed to local youth, investigators traced the supply chain and identified Lewis as the supplier.

The Sheriff's Department believes Lewis operated an organized distribution system selling various types of drugs and related products to teenagers. It is reported that

some products were packaged in bright colors or cartoon character designs to attract the attention of young students.

Lewis is suspected of traveling throughout Ventura County and selling products near middle and high schools.

Investigators spotted and arrested Lewis while he was driving on the 10th, and a loaded firearm was found in his vehicle.

Subsequently, they searched his home in Oxnard and secured a large quantity of drugs and evidence believed to be related to his distribution activities.

According to the LAPD, yesterday (the 13th), more than 70 participants, including many minors, blocked 6th Street Bridge on unauthorized minibikes.

They performed stunts such as "donut riding" (circling) and "wheelies" (riding with the front wheel off the ground), while some were observed driving against traffic or dangerously weaving between vehicles.

DeLeon argued that it should not be considered a crime because he rode alongside his daughter to ensure her safety, but both father and daughter received tickets and had their minibikes confiscated.

The police warned that minibikes lack essential safety equipment, are difficult to see by other drivers, and have low stability, which could lead to fatal accidents if operated on public roads. They

further emphasized that such minibikes cannot be legally operated on public roads.

The LAPD stated that since a significant number of participants were minors, they explained the dangers to parents and guardians, focusing on education and safe return home rather than punishment. They

added that the purpose of this crackdown was not to turn teenagers into criminals, but to prevent a tragic accident on the 6th Street Bridge, one of the busiest and most iconic roads in Los Angeles.

90% Probability of Rates Rising Again... Fed on Countdown to First Hike in 3 Years

The likelihood of the Federal Reserve (Fed) raising interest rates again for the first time in over three years is growing.

As inflationary pressures in the U.S. rise again, market bets on a rate hike have surpassed 90%, and major Wall Street investment banks have also successively shifted to forecasting a rate hike.

According to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) FedWatch, the probability in the interest rate futures market that the Federal Reserve will raise the benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points at the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on the 15th–16th rose to 90.3% at one point this morning (the 14th).

This is a significant increase from approximately 70% prior to the release of recent inflation data.

The probability that the benchmark interest rate will remain higher than the current level by December stood at 98.2%.

If the Fed raises the benchmark rate by 0.25 percentage points at this meeting, the target range for the policy rate will rise from the current 3.50–3.75% to 3.75–4.00%.

If the Fed raises rates, it would be the first hike in three years and two months since July 2023, marking a shift back to tightening after a policy freeze that followed three consecutive rate cuts in the second half of last year.

As the possibility of further tightening by the Fed came to the fore, U.S. Treasury yields also surged.

On this day, the yield on U.S. 10-year Treasuries rose to 5.012% during trading, surpassing 5% for the first time since October 2023.

The market outlook shifted sharply toward a hawkish stance (favoring monetary tightening) due to growing concerns over a resurgence of inflation. This was driven by stronger-than-expected inflation figures and international oil prices soaring well past $100 per barrel in the wake of armed conflicts in the Middle East.

Major Wall Street investment banks have also been joining the forecast of interest rate hikes one after another.

Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and HSBC all predicted that the Federal Reserve would raise the benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points at the upcoming FOMC meeting.

Ryan Wang, an economist at HSBC, predicted a rate hike in September, stating, "The lack of progress in slowing inflation has ultimately tipped the scales."

JPMorgan also forecasted that following this week's rate hike, there would be one additional rate hike this year, citing doubts raised by recent price indicators about whether inflation will continue to slow.

However, while Goldman Sachs predicted a rate hike this week, it presented a different view regarding the subsequent rate path.

Goldman Sachs maintained its forecast of two rate cuts in 2027, but predicted that the timing of the cuts would be delayed compared to previous estimates.
