1 year ago, the Mullnix family found themselves hanging onto a building that had no plans, no way forward, and no guarantees. Shut door after shut door. Tear after tear.
1 year ago, the Loftus family completely uprooted their lives to move to a city to partner with a building that had no plans, no way forward, and no guarantees.
A blurry vision + faith the size of a mustard seed.
We walked the creaky floors, dodged the wasps, scooped up rodents, scrubbed the floors, painted the walls, and spent hours tending to the building's well-being. All the while dreaming and casting vision after vision along the way, wondering how God would breathe it to life.
God? We have no plan. There are no “checklists” or “charts.” There are more unanswered questions than there are answered ones. How do we explain it, God? What do we say? We don’t even really have a name for it.
……… but we do know one name, Jesus.
So we kept pressing forward, with one goal in mind, “Speak Jesus.”
So we did. Questions were asked, shrugged shoulders were given. “We don’t know, whatever God wants to do.”
Last night, we saw a glimpse of those original visions that we had no idea of the path to.
We saw His church (His people) together, different denominations, different people groups, different political views, opinions, passions, an eclectic crowd, if you will…. for two hours we were of one heart and one mind, staring at our King as the music flooded out the windows into La Porte City.
God is faithful, even when we don’t have a tight-knit plan.
God is faithful when we don’t have all the answers.
God is faithful before we can see what He’s doing.
God is moving, not on our timeline, but on His.
God sees His people, knows exactly what they need, and meets them right where they are.
He always has. He always will.
The same prayer rings true, “I don’t wanna go if you’re not going before me” 🎶
One step in front of the other, trusting that His plans are better than anything we could build on our own.
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.
