There are 6 foundational principles of health:
💤 Sleep quality
🌬️ Breathing mechanics
🧠 Mindset
🥩 Nutrition
💧 Hydration
🤸♀️ Movement
Focusing on these 6 principles can unwind years of fatigue, gut issues, pain, hormonal imbalances, etc.
By bringing your body back into balance and giving it the tools it needs for healing, you can trust that your nervous system will handle the rest and return back to homeostasis.
But I have added a 7th.
One that I find is of the utmost importance to maintaining happiness and a lightness in spirit.
& It’s missing in nearly every adult that I work with.
The 7th principle is PLAY.
We can get so caught up in adulting and taking care of responsibilities that we become rigid, easily frustrated, and stuck in a state of rush. It’s hard to make life changes from this place.
One day last week, I got home early and it was pouring down. It was just me and my 11 year old at home, we were both feeling a little low in energy. I wanted to connect with him, but he wasn’t wanting to play any card or board games. We sat on the sofa together, each with a book in hand.
I could have honestly taken a nap, but instead I asked “What would little Jade do?”
The answer?
“Go outside. Play in the rain.”
When I asked my boy if he wanted to, he immediately lit up. We headed out and for the next 1.5 hours we rode the 4wheeler in the mud, had backbend contests, foot races, and jumped over ditches and on the trampoline.
The after effect? I had more energy than a cup of coffee. Me and my boy were deeply connected and my entire being was lit up.

Go back to your roots, before life took it’s toll.
Break through the resistance that comes from adulting and PLAY more.
