Curious about how AI is reshaping the translation industry?

We just released a new video exploring whether AI is really replacing translators or just changing the game.

Spoiler alert: your translation job might be safe, but only if you're adapting to the new landscape.

In this video, we break down:

How AI is turning translation into a feature for everyday tools.

Why are some translation tasks more at risk of automation than others?

The kinds of content that still need a human touch, and how translators can stay relevant.

Check out the video and let us know what you think!

How does GPT-5 SRT translation perform?

We tested a 14-minute English SRT file translated into Spanish.

GPT-5 translated only the first 30 seconds, crashed when we tried to download, and wouldn’t let us retrieve the file later.

Bureau Works translated the entire file on the first try, allowed edits for every sentence, and saved the history, so files remain accessible months or even years later.

The takeaway? LLMs can generate text, but they’re not built for professional subtitle workflows. Bureau Works is.

How about you?

What tools or processes are you using today for SRT translation?

We’ve reached 100,000+ subscribers on YouTube!

This milestone is more than a number. It represents the growth of a community that believes in authentic conversations about translation, localization, and the future of our industry.

At Bureau Works, content is not just about views or metrics. It’s about truth, originality, and creating space for ideas that spark change.

Our YouTube channel has become a platform where product, growth, and creativity intersect, with industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers sharing their voices.
We’re grateful to our team, our partners, and every single guest and subscriber who has been part of this journey.

The recognition is exciting, but the real value lies in the process, the debates, the insights, and the connections we’ve built along the way.

We have just launched a Bitbucket Integration.

With our new Bitbucket Connector, you can:

✅ Send files for translation straight from your repo
✅ Get localized files back via automatic Pull Request
✅ Keep your workflow secure with API tokens
✅ Review translations directly in Bitbucket

This integration means your team never has to break their workflow.

Developers keep coding in Bitbucket while translations flow automatically in the background.

With Bureau Works, you don't just automate the translation.

You can also hire a translator to review, pay them, and save all that information for continuous learning.

Each new translation builds on the knowledge gained from previous ones.

Your developers stay focused.
Your content goes global.
And whenever you need to put humans in the loop, the platform is ready!

Large language models can do a lot.
But without the right framework, they fail at what agencies and freelancers need most: accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

That’s why Bureau Works separates the work into clear roles:

Parsing & segmentation → turning messy files into clean text chunks.
Context retrieval → pulling from glossaries and translation memories.
Ranking system → glossary matches beat TM, TM beats MT, MT supports the LLM.

Only then do we bring GPT-5 into the loop.
But instead of letting it wander, we guide it.
Like putting it on train tracks.

The result?
Reliable translations that agencies and freelancers can trust, without hallucinations or missing context.

Can GPT-5 really replace your TMS?

Gabriel Fairman ran a side-by-side test: the same file, the same glossary, the same translation memory.

First with GPT. Then with Bureau Works.

The result? GPT looked promising at first… but quickly slipped into typos, hallucinations, and missing sentences.

Bureau Works, on the other hand, delivered consistent, editable, and reliable translations.

Built for agencies and freelancers who can’t afford mistakes.

This freelance translator does what no one wants.

But it seems so simple.
Adrian Probst shows weekly that yes, it is possible to build an audience by sharing the day-to-day life of a translator.

His secret: consistency.
It's inspiring to see how his content helps him win more clients.

When people see you regularly, you become the person they think of when opportunity knocks. That’s the magic of passive marketing.

Clients come to you without cold outreach.
What’s one small step you can take today to make your name stick?

Agencies give clients savings from translation memory and repetitions all the time.

But let’s be honest, those savings usually hide in a spreadsheet somewhere.
What if they showed up like store credit?

Every reused sentence adds to your client’s balance.
They can see exactly how much they saved and where it came from.
Clear. Simple. Easy to share with leadership.

For agencies, it’s more than a nice report.
It’s proof you’re working smarter.

And the best part?
When clients can see those savings pile up, they’re more likely to stick around to take full advantage.

And with custom saving rules, you can keep that goodwill growing for years.

What can you automate in your translation agency today?

With AI, agencies need more automation than ever to stay profitable.
Stop the back-and-forth and endless copying and pasting.

Here’s what you can automate in your translation agency:

Use fewer tools.
Streamline your daily operations by reducing the number of platforms you rely on. Fewer tools mean faster workflows and higher productivity.

Automatic job quotes.
Save your client’s time. Let them upload a file and get an instant quote. No endless back-and-forth needed.

Smart task allocation.
Assign projects to the best available translator automatically, based on the quality criteria you define.

Automatic payments.
Pay hundreds or thousands of translators instantly, with all word counts already calculated.

What are other ways to increase your agency's productivity? Let us know in the comments.

Can a CAT Tool Help You Bypass AI Detectors?

Bypassing AI detectors isn’t the main reason to use a CAT tool.

But some features can make it happen.

Glossary & Terminology Control:

If you have a glossary set up, the CAT tool applies it to all LLM translations.

Your terms are replaced or adapted to match the glossary.

This removes typical LLM words and sentence patterns, shaping the text to your style and reducing repetitive or “AI-sounding” output.

Integrated Human Feedback:

Translator edits are saved in translation memory.

Over time, the LLM suggestions adapt toward a more human style.

This can lower the chance of detection.

Multiple Author Inputs:

CAT tools often involve several translators and editors.

Different writing styles create natural variation in phrasing.

This breaks the uniformity of raw LLM output.

The Result:

While the primary role of a CAT tool is to improve workflow and quality, the mix of human edits, terminology control, and varied input can also make text less likely to trigger AI detectors.

As translators, we’ve always had to choose:
Great text editors like Google Docs or Word...
or translation systems with memories and glossaries.

We get why these worlds stayed apart:
Segments.

They brought automation.
Allowed discounts.
Gave peace of mind
especially to Localization Managers.

It’s common to hear:

“50% of segments are in memory, block them.”

And just like that,
segments become the logic behind every choice.

Managers cherry-pick
This one gets translated.
That one gets skipped.

From their view, it works.
From a creative view?
It’s chaos.

No flow.
No warm-up.
Just silos.

We believe in a third way.

Unify the usability of a great text editor
with 40 years of translation tech
in one platform.

That’s Free-Flow:
A translation editor without segments,
built to prioritize flow.
