When I posted part one of “It’s Only An Hour” on Spotify, I knew I was sharing some of the most personal things that I have ever shared publicly about my life. I had no idea how many of you would choose to sit with me through it. I honestly just thought it would be a couple of my close friends and family. The goal was always to at least reach one person and if I could give that one person just a tiny bit of hope then every word I said was worth saying.
44 plays and downloads on one episode might not seem like a lot to you, but to me that’s 43 more people than I ever thought I’d reach. It brought the account to over 1000 plays and downloads. Which means, people are listening to understand or they are listening to seek hope. Either is fine with me. The podcast was created to help others find what ever it is they are searching for. You truly never know who’s listening.
More than the numbers, though, it’s been your messages that have stayed with me. A couple of you have reached out to tell me your own stories, to say something resonated or simply to tell me you understand me better now. That’s the part I’ll never forget. Every single one of us is carrying something, and every single one of us has a story worth telling. When you’re ready.
Part 2 is almost here.
After it’s released, I’m going to host a Q&A right here on the Listen Lafayette page. If there’s something you feel I left unanswered or you’re just curious about a moment I mentioned…Ask me. Nothing is off the table. My goal has never been to just tell my story or I would have done it on day one. It’s to start conversations about our stories and raise hope & courage in those who haven’t found their voice yet. I understand this isn’t for everyone but when you’ve tried everything else, what could it hurt to tune in? We’re all just trying to figure this life out together.
From the bottom of my whole heart you guys, thank you sooo much for listening. Thank you for sharing. And thank you for reminding me why I started Listen Lafayette in the first place. ❤️ I’m excited to see where season 3 goes from here. I can’t write it without you! 🫂
