Students marked an important milestone at this year’s Louisiana Ring Ceremony, hosted right here at the UL Lafayette Alumni House. The event followed the longstanding Ring Release at Cypress Lake, a tradition that began in 2012 when the first official Louisiana Rings spent the night in a pirogue on the lake to symbolize the deep connection between students and the heart of campus.

The ceremony welcomed soon-to-be graduates into a community of Ragin' Cajuns who share the same pride and symbols. Alumni, families, and friends gathered to celebrate each student’s hard work and the traditions that continue to link generations.

Congratulations to all our new Louisiana Ring recipients. Wear it with pride and share your Ragin' Cajun story wherever you go. We are so proud of you!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Alumni Center yesterday for our annual Sonic Parade Open House. We loved welcoming alumni, families, faculty, and friends for a festive afternoon filled with parade views, holiday treats, and plenty of Ragin’ Cajun spirit. From kids’ activity stations to warm refreshments, it was a joy to celebrate this cherished tradition with our community.

Our last tailgate of the regular season brought cold wind and a little rain, but it never slowed down our Ragin' Cajuns spirit. Alumni stayed warm with a delicious gumbo from Schilling Distributing Company and the fan favorite quail eggs. Thank you to everyone who showed up and kept the energy high all morning and afternoon.
