The name of the French Broad River in French was the Agiqua River, the Native Americans of this area – the Cherokee Indians – called it different names: Poelico, Agiqua (broad) in the mountains, Tahkeeosteh (racing waters) from Asheville down and Zillicoah above Asheville.

When our mechanic installed our new engine, he put the fuel lines in backwards. It took us our first week on the road: breaking down, no pick up power, and talking to other mechanics to discover that our veggie/fuel switcher was bad. It was sucking diesel and veggie fuel into the system. Since it was routed backwards, the return line was sending it back into our diesel fuel tank. This is why we were finding unheated congealed veggie oil in our diesel tank and lines. An unbelievable mess. Once I figured out the problem, I switched the lines back and disconnected the veggie system completely from our fuel system. Then I cleaned out all the gunk from the lines. Such a bummer to lose and now have to redo our veg system, but now she is running far better than she did when we got her back from the shop! Now we just need to figure out how to clean the veggie grease out of the diesel tank. A work in progress.
