It is the biggest disappointment of my career to announce that I will no longer be playing Dubzarks Music Festival. The entire show is being thrown by someone who has never done it before and he was unable to pay me before my set which as any real professional music Industry member knows, that is unacceptable. I myself have thrown real shows before and know that you have to pay half when you book them and then the other half before they start their set and he could not.

False promises of payments based off of hopeful tickets sales is not how its done(I know this from experience) and its how you ruin your name, your business, and your image for future business and business relations.

As soon as I stood my ground as a professional musician and held my boundaries strong(because I respect myself and know my worth as I have a bachelors degree in music) I was told that my slot would be filled by someone else.

Dont get me wrong here folks, im all about supporting local music and starting things that bring change and positivity and greatness out in our community...... but there's a right way and a wrong way and this new festival chose the wrong way and it will not have a good turn out this year and definitely will not be back next year.

My hopes are that the people that got screwed over(myself included) will get paid what they were told and that whoevers left that actually plays gets paid as well (some of us drove 10 hours away from home without any gas money). Also I hope the guy that tried to throw this show realizes the error of his ways and either stops trying or doesn't try again till he's actually ready because this really was the most half-assed attempt at a festival I've ever seen outside of Fire festival, and personally telling my mom to throw out the large print of my artist picture from the festival that she made and has at home waiting for me to sign so she can frame it is gonna break her heart and disappointing my mother and family and friends and myself was not on my 2025 bucket list.
