Are you seeking the feeling of singing in a truly good ensemble? You’re in the right place.

ModernTone is launching The Modern Voices Ensemble, a small auditioned SATB group (about 16–20 singers) for adults who want meaningful, high-quality music-making again. Think thoughtful repertoire, focused rehearsals, and a community of people who genuinely enjoy working toward something beautiful together.

Rehearsals are 90 minutes weekly in Lafayette, led by professional vocalist and educator Jessica Winn, whose experience and musicality set a warm but ambitious tone for the group.

If you’ve been wanting to return to ensemble singing, or you know someone who keeps saying they “miss choir so much” this is a great place to land.

Kids discovering rhythm for the first time. Adults finding their way back after years away. Parents seeing their kids grow in confidence, focus, and genuine joy.

Our students and recording artists bring every background and every genre through our doors. Our job is to meet them where they are, back their goals, and build a community where their creativity can actually take root and grow.

We’ve worked hard to build a place that supports people making music, pays its team a living wage, and makes a real impact in the community we serve. We’ve applied for the Gusto Impact Award so we can keep expanding our programs, investing locally, and bringing more music into more lives.

This still feels surreal - ModernTone Studios has been named one of America’s Top 100 Small Businesses by the + CO—100. I had the incredible honor of traveling to our nation’s capital to represent our studio and take part in the 2025 Small Business Forum, alongside industry leaders and innovators for all over the country.

Inside the U.S. Chamber’s historic headquarters - right across from the White House - they created a Business Walk of Fame, where each of the 100 companies received a star. Standing there in a suit and tie (which, let’s be honest, doesn’t happen often), pointing at our star, was one of those rare moments that makes you stop and take it all in.

Running a business like this is a true labor of love - full of long hours, late nights, and more heart than most people will ever see. But every bit of it is worth it because of the people who make up this community.

To our incredible instructors, coordinators, producers, engineers, students, artists, bands, and families who trust us with their music - this is your award too. You’re the reason ModernTone exists, grows, and continues to make music that matters.
