YOUR Sunday afternoon plans: grab some tacos in Lafayette, CO and bring 'em along to the Music Scene Holiday Party!

It's that time of year when all the bands finally get to hang! Swing by for a groovy little holiday party for our local music scene and the many humans who make it great. Get all dolled up in your pop-punk Christmas finery (there will be costume prizes) and get your photo taken with Punk Rock Santa! The party kicks off at 3PM with cocktails, holiday treats, and mischief, and we’ll have a live punk rock Christmas show, then dive into karaoke and bad-Christmas-album listening.

The End Lafayette is a cozy 75-person live music venue nestled inside the recording studios of Dog House Music. Our shows are intimate affairs where each guest is invited into the recording studio to experience small batch local live music. Many of the bands and artists on stage have written, rehearsed, and recorded their music right from the studio you'll be standing in! We support and promote Colorado bands and artists who are creating and re-inventing the Colorado music scene, and we invite you into the studio to have a listen!

This show is hosted by YOUR local music nonprofit, Rock For The People. They're all about Colorado's homegrown music, and they're here to support YOU (the folks who create it). You want a music scene that represents you, so their mission is to make opportunities for y'all (musicians, audio engineers, music fans) from historically underrepresented groups so you're heard, seen, and cheered for.

Join us at The End Lafayette at Dog House Music Studios on Saturday, Nov. 7th for Improv Boulder's LAUGHayette. Doors open at 7:30PM and the show starts at 8PM with cocktails, beer, wine, cider, and seltzers, plus some snacks and coffee to help y’all enjoy your night!

You'll find quick wit, bold characters, and the unexpected comedic chaos you can only get when nothing is scripted at Improv Boulder's new monthly improv comedy show, LAUGHayette Improv. The region's funniest improvisers will make up an entire show on the spot — based on YOUR suggestions — in one of the most atmospheric and immersive venues hosting comedy in Boulder County.

Our studio members are local bands, musicians, and musical artists and they're here 24/7 writing, creating, rehearsing, recording, and prepping for shows! They are the heart of our local music scene and they're the reason we're all here listening and experiencing that live music goodness.

Wanna be part of your local music scene?!

Our Story

Dog House Music is Colorado’s by-musicians for-musicians studio space, offering full service rehearsals, recording, videography, and intimate live shows. With four rehearsal spaces, eighteen private studios for local artists, and a full production studio, we offer musicians a professional space to create, rehearse, record, produce, and perform live music.

Dog House Music was first imagined and built in 2003 as Colorado’s answer to the growing need for professional rehearsal spaces in the vein of Los Angeles and Nashville. With quick access to Red Rocks Amphitheater, First Bank Center, Boulder Theater, The Fox Theater, and venues up and down the front range, Dog House became Colorado’s premier rehearsal studio for touring artists, from the Indigo Girls to The Pixies.

As of 2019, Dog House is under new ownership! Liz and Kenny Vasko took over the studios and retrofitted them to cater to modern bands and artists. In addition to professional rehearsal space, Dog House Music now offers an intimate live music venue, a full production studio for sound designers and audio engineers, a YouTube series (Dog House Sessions) that features Colorado’s up-and-coming talent, studio recording, in-house mixing + mastering, videography services, memberships for local musicians, and partnerships with local music organizations.

Our mission at Dog House Music is to support musicians at all stages; playing, writing, rehearsing, recording, producing, and performing. If you’re a musician, this is your playground.
