Bayou Segnette Christmas Lights

Brooke and I went to the Bayou Segnette Christmas Lights display last night, and it was absolutely beautiful. ✨
We really enjoyed ourselves walking through the glowing paths of lights — it felt magical from start to finish.

If you get the chance, definitely bring your family out to this! There’s even a big tent where they put on live shows. We got to watch a clown juggling, and he was really good! 🎪🤹‍♂️

One big tip: buy your tickets online — they’re a lot cheaper there than at the gate.

Perfect way to kick off the Christmas season. 🎄💫

🎃 Town of Jean Lafitte Fall Market 2025 🍂
The Fall Market at the Jules Nunez Pavilion brought together the community for a cozy day filled with creativity, flavor, and fun! Local vendors filled the pavilion with handmade Christmas arts and crafts, custom t-shirts, fresh bread, pies, cookies, and unique gifts for the holiday season. The smell of hot food and sweet treats filled the air while shoppers explored over twenty booths of local talent. From homemade goodies to festive décor, there was something for everyone — and for the first time, visitors enjoyed The Harbor Bar serving drinks to keep the fall spirit going.

🎣 What a day on the water! We went fishing with Kevin Ford down in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, and the speckle trout were biting nonstop. 🐟🐟🐟

We used brown shrimp for bait, and the trout couldn’t resist. To make it even more special, we were surrounded by dolphins the whole time—it felt like something out of a movie. 🐬✨

Louisiana truly is one of the best places in the world for fishing. From the rich waters to the unforgettable experiences, there’s nothing like it! ⚓️🌊

🎃👻 Happy Halloween, everyone! 👻🎃

Tonight’s the night where the shadows come alive…

Let me tell you a story:
A little boy, dressed in his shiny silver astronaut costume, wanders off to trick-or-treat alone. At first, it’s all fun and candy — but soon he finds himself face-to-face with the creatures of the night… ghosts, witches, vampires, a wolfman, even a mummy. He runs, barely escaping, only to discover the monsters have followed him — right back to the rest of the trick-or-treaters. And this time, there’s no escape. 🕷️🦇

That’s the tale behind my brand-new Halloween track:
DJ Eddie A – “It’s Halloween, No Escape”
Now available on Spotify and all streaming platforms.

Turn it up, let the monsters in, and have the spookiest night of your life. 🖤

Refrigerators, in the form we know them today, were invented in the early 20th century, but the idea and technology developed over time:

1748 – The first demonstration of artificial refrigeration was done by William Cullen in Scotland, though it wasn’t practical for everyday use.

1834 – Jacob Perkins built the first working vapor-compression refrigeration machine.

1850s–1870s – Early commercial refrigeration was used in breweries and meatpacking industries.

1913 – The first domestic refrigerator for home use was invented by Fred W. Wolf.

1920s – Home refrigerators started becoming available to middle-class families, though still expensive.

1940s–1950s – Refrigerators became common in most households in the U.S. and Europe.

So, your 1800s kitchen style is before refrigerators were in homes — people used iceboxes, cold cellars, or tricks like putting a frog in milk to preserve food.

“Swinging Through the Night” is a song that means a lot to me, not just because of the music, but because of the video. I brought it to life using old photos of me and my kids when we were little, then animated us all into the story. Seeing us together, swinging and smiling through the night, makes the whole thing feel like a celebration of family, memories, and music. It’s playful, happy, and full of love — the way jazz should be.”

Jean Lafitte And Barataria Island
THE LEGENDS OF NEW ORLEANS FOLKLORE
S01E02
Jean Lafitte was a pirate who operated in the Gulf of Mexico in the early 19th century, and he used Barataria Island in Louisiana as a base for his activities. He and his brother engaged in smuggling and piracy. During the War of 1812, they helped defend New Orleans against the British, but after the war, the U.S. Navy attacked their base, ending their operations. Lafitte's legacy lives on as part of Louisiana's history, and his role in the Battle of New Orleans is celebrated.

2021 Lafitte Seafood Festival

Since the Festival is coming this weekend, I figured it would be a good time to post the event that marked a powerful return for the town of Lafitte, Louisiana. After years of absence following Hurricane Katrina and in the wake of the devastating Hurricane Ida, the community came together to bring the festival back to life as a symbol of strength, resilience, and unity.

Through vibrant scenes of live music, dancing, and joyful celebration, the video captures the spirit of a town refusing to be defined by disaster. Faces light up with laughter, generations gather under the Louisiana sky, and the sound of music fills the air, proving that Lafitte's heart still beats strong.

What makes this festival so special isn't just the music—it's the people. It’s the shared moments, the resilience in the rhythm, and the unshakable bond of a community determined to rise again.

Filming this was no small task—my crew and I worked three straight days with barely any sleep, constantly shooting and uploading footage. But every second was worth it. Being part of this was more than just a job—it was a privilege. This video is our tribute to Lafitte’s spirit.
