With thousands of visitors exploring the grounds each day, the Tall Ships Festival is the perfect place to connect with ocean‑loving customers and celebrate the spirit of adventure that inspires our designs.
The Dana Point Tall Ships Festival brings one of California’s most beloved maritime traditions to life along the waterfront. Hosted by the Ocean Institute, this annual celebration has been a cornerstone of the community for more than 40 years, drawing families, history lovers, and ocean enthusiasts from across the region.
This year’s festival promises an unforgettable weekend filled with historic tall ships, sailor reenactors, local marine life exhibits, food trucks, beer gardens, kids’ activities, and a bustling marketplace of coastal‑themed vendors. As always, 100% of the weekend’s proceeds support the Ocean Institute’s mission of inspiring children through hands‑on ocean education.
Visitors can step aboard majestic tall ships, meet pirates, enjoy mermaid encounters, and take part in special ticketed experiences including Cannon Battles, Sails ’n Ales, and the Festival Adventure Pass, which grants access to ship tours and the Institute’s main campus. Live entertainment, local food, and maritime demonstrations round out the festivities, creating a vibrant celebration of Dana Point’s rich seafaring heritage.
