The Studio Isn’t Holding Me Back. Perfection Is.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve spent a lot of time working on the porch…Pap-Pap’s Porch.
I’ve hung signs, moved furniture, set up lights, and spent way too much time thinking about where everything should go.
But here’s what I realized this morning.
The studio isn’t what I should be focused on at all…the content is.
I’ve been trying to build the perfect setup when I’m pretty sure I should have been trying to learn how to do this whole media/podcasting/storytelling thing.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I do think a good studio matters, but at some point, preparing has just helped me become a better procrastinator. Can you relate?
So here’s what I’m going to do:
The studio is close enough.
From here on out, my priority is creating content, content that I hope helps someone…including me getting better. I welcome your feedback, comments, and connections.
I also realized this morning that maybe this isn’t just a reminder for me. Maybe it’s a reminder for you or someone else reading this post that has been waiting until everything is perfect before getting started on a project…or possibly achieving a personal goal.
This is Pap-Pap’s advice:
Start now.
Improve later.
Have fun.
And don’t let perfection become your reason…or your excuse.
Thanks for stopping by the porch.
