Johnny Cash died 23 years ago today, on September 12, 2003. The Man in Black was 71.

Cash recorded 'At Folsom Prison' inside California’s Folsom State Prison in 1968. The album later earned triple platinum certification and entered the National Recording Registry.

His final studio album released during his lifetime was 'American IV: The Man Comes Around'. It included “Hurt,” whose video won Best Cinematography at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

"Modern Love" is a song written by David Bowie, the single was released in September 1983 and was the opening track on his 1983 album Let's Dance. “Modern Love" is a high energy, critically acclaimed pop rock track released in 1983 as the third single from his Lets Dance album. David Bowie modeled Modern Love after Little Richard’s 1958 rhythm and blues B side "True Fine Mama," channeling that classic rock-and roll energy into an 80s arena pop format.
