Think the best time to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris is first thing in the morning? 🦓🐘

Not necessarily.

One of my favorite Disney’s Animal Kingdom tips is to pay attention to the **animals’ feeding schedules**. As the afternoon progresses, you may catch animals becoming more active around feeding times—and some of my best safari experiences have happened later in the day.

There’s no guarantee with wildlife, of course. That’s part of what makes the safari so much fun. But if you’re planning a day at Animal Kingdom, don’t automatically assume that rope drop = the best safari.

Most people driving down International Drive have no idea they're passing a piece of Orlando restaurant history. The very first Olive Garden opened right here in Orlando on December 13, 1982. 🍝

But here's the crazy part: the original Olive Garden is no longer here.

The location has gone through several different restaurants over the years, and today you'd probably never know this was where the chain got its start.

Just another piece of Orlando history hiding in plain sight!

This isn't your typical McDonald's. 🍟

Right here in Orlando is Epic McD — the World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's.

And once you walk inside, you'll understand why.

There's a huge arcade and entertainment area, unusual menu options like pizza and pasta, and a restaurant that's dramatically different from the McDonald's you're probably used to.

It's located on Sand Lake Road, just off Orlando's famous International Drive.

If you're visiting Orlando and looking for something different to do between the theme parks, this is definitely worth knowing about.

I’m standing in front of Six Ravens tonight for its soft opening, and the atmospheric lighting instantly sets the tone. The dark wooden facade, illuminated raven crest, and medieval detailing look stunning under the night sky.
Inside, the warm glow of candlelight, a roaring fireplace setup, and a massive plague-doctor mural complete the dark academia aesthetic. The team is officially dialing in the experience, and early impressions of the space and service are top-tier.

The newest concept from the creators of Gideon’s Bakehouse looks just about ready to welcome guests, and I can’t wait to try it! This medieval-inspired quick-service spot will serve savory hand pies (“Coffyns”), smashed potatoes with dipping sauces, dessert tarts, local craft beer, and even house-made root beer.

Some menu items include:
🥧 Cheeseburger Coffyn
🍗 Pesto Chicken Coffyn
🍖 Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese Coffyn
🧀 Grilled Cheese with Tomato Jam
🥔 Smashed Potatoes

Confession...

I've driven past some of these places hundreds of times.

I never once thought to stop.

Turns out one helped launch a restaurant chain known around the world. Another introduced guests to Walt Disney World before the Magic Kingdom even opened. And one has become one of Orlando's strangest landmarks.

Sometimes the most interesting places aren't hidden—they're just overlooked.
