Pride is important because there is still someone that believes they’re better off not alive than being gay. You are loved and perfect just the way you are. You don’t need to be out to be valid and I hope some day the world is safe enough for you to feel like you can exist. For now, we will shoulder the weight of visibility so you know it will always be here waiting for you ❤️ We love you!

Cold Capping saved my life. Full stop….
(along with chemo, surgery, and radiation)
I don’t know that the mental load of cancer is really fully discussed. Yes, I was afraid of not surviving and still afraid of recurrence but there is a STARK physical contrast in the way you looked before and how you look during and after. A little less hair, scars, radiation tattoos….the list goes on. And while you’re going through treatment, the telltale sign is no hair. People can visibly see your sickness. The turned down heads when you walk by, the looks of pity in public. But somehow, cold capping spared me of most of that. It wasn’t easy, and it was painful, and expensive. But it gave me a tiny reprieve when the rest of my world felt unbearable.
And now? My hair is long along again, it’s full, and I will forever be grateful to have the current lens on life that I have. There is life after diagnosis. I’m living proof of that.

It’s called “The Barn” and nobody wanted it. It’s going to increase our electricity bills, drain our lakes, and ruin the land that feeds people. Call your senators and representatives and tell them we want a moratorium on Data Centers until there’s a better way that doesn’t devastate the community it’s placed in.
