Sometimes my job is literally talking people OUT of spending more money on their Disney vacation. 😂

You don’t automatically need Park Hopper. You don’t need to stay Deluxe just because you can afford it.

You don’t need a dining plan. You don’t need Lightning Lane every single park day.

You don’t need a character meal every morning, a special event every night and every upgrade Disney offers in between.

Sometimes I’ll price something for a client and tell them, “I really don’t think you need to spend the extra money on this.”

Because my goal isn’t to make your vacation as expensive as possible. It’s to figure out where YOUR family should spend the money and, just as importantly, where you shouldn’t.

I’d rather tell you to save $800 on the resort because I know you’re barely going to be there and put some of that money toward something your family will actually enjoy.

Or tell you to skip Park Hopper because your kids are little and you’re probably not going to use it.

Or tell you there’s one park where I wouldn’t bother buying Lightning Lane.

More expensive does NOT automatically mean a better Disney vacation.

The best trip is the one that makes sense for your family, your kids, your priorities and your budget.

Something is happening at Walt Disney World this Christmas that has NEVER happened before… 🎄👀

THREE rides are getting holiday overlays this year!!

🎸 Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Hollywood Studios is getting festive with a special holiday soundtrack! This one begins November 4 and runs through January 6.

🛸 Alien Swirling Saucers is joining in too! Lilypad’s Jams will feature four festive tracks throughout the holiday season, also from November 4 through January 6.

🎄 Then beginning November 25, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will switch things up with THREE holiday songs shuffled into the ride! Those will stick around through January 6.

I LOVE when Disney adds little seasonal changes like this because it gives you another reason to experience rides you may have already done a million times. 😂

Christmas at Disney World was already one of my favorite times to visit, but THREE holiday ride overlays?! I’m absolutely here for it.

Somewhere between waking up to an ocean view, seeing characters casually walking around the ship, spending the day on a beautiful beach and ending the night with a show.

Disney Cruise Line just has a way of making real life feel VERY far away for a few days. 🥹

And we’re officially LESS THAN ONE MONTH away from being back onboard!!! 🚢🙌

The countdown is ON.

If your child loves princesses, PLEASE stop assuming Cinderella’s Royal Table is your only option. 👑

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT is one of my favorite alternatives, and after eating breakfast here, I think it can actually make MORE sense for a lot of families.

You still get the big princess experience and the chance to meet multiple princesses during one meal without spending your park day chasing down individual character meets.

But one of my favorite things about Akershus is simply WHERE it is.

Magic Kingdom has the most rides and attractions of any Disney World park. Taking an hour and a half out of that day for a character meal can be a pretty big chunk of valuable park time.

At EPCOT? I find it SO much easier to work a longer character breakfast into our day without feeling like we’re sacrificing nearly as much.

And if you’re using the Disney Dining Plan, breakfast at Akershus is only ONE table-service meal per person.

Princesses + breakfast + knocking out several character meets at once + not sacrificing a huge chunk of your Magic Kingdom day?

Akershus deserves WAY more attention when you’re planning a princess trip. 👏🏼

One of my biggest Disney tips has absolutely nothing to do with rides, Lightning Lanes or dining reservations…

SLOW DOWN AND LOOK AROUND. 👀

Toy Story Land is one of the BEST examples of this.

The entire idea is that you’ve been shrunk down to the size of a toy and you’re playing in Andy’s backyard. And once you start looking closely, you realize just how much of the land looks like Andy built it himself using toys, games, crayons, cardboard boxes and random things from his room.

Even when you’re standing in line!

Slinky Dog Dash is packed with little details that are SO easy to walk right past when you’re focused on getting to the ride.

Look at the drawings. Read the boxes. Look at what things are “built” out of. Pay attention to the instructions and all the little pieces Andy used to create everything around you.

Disney World gets expensive, and I think sometimes that makes us feel like we have to RUN from ride to ride to get our money’s worth.

You don’t.

Some of my favorite Disney details are hiding in the places we normally rush through.

Next time you’re in Toy Story Land, slow down and actually look around. You’ll start noticing things EVERYWHERE. 🥹

What’s the most underrated ride at Walt Disney World?

I’ll go first: the PeopleMover. A breeze, some shade, usually minimal wait, and 10 glorious minutes off your feet. 😂

Stop asking “How much does Disney World cost?” That’s basically like asking, “How much does a car cost?”

Well… are we talking about a Ford or a Ferrari? Because those are two VERY different numbers. 😂

Disney World works the exact same way.

A family staying 3 nights at an All-Star Resort with 2 or 3 park days is going to have a VERY different total than a family staying 7 nights at the Polynesian with Park Hopper, Lightning Lane, a dining plan and multiple character meals.

Both families are going to Disney World. Both can have an AMAZING vacation.

But those trips could cost THOUSANDS of dollars apart.

Your dates matter.
Your kids’ ages matter.
Your resort matters.
How many park days you want matters.
And all those extras? They’re exactly that. EXTRAS.

This is why I hate hearing someone say, “We’d love to take the kids to Disney, but we could never afford it,” when they’ve never actually priced THEIR trip.

Maybe Disney really doesn’t fit the budget right now.

But you also might be looking at someone else’s Ferrari vacation when your family would be perfectly happy in the Ford. 😂

And guess what? You’re both still driving to Disney World. 🏰
