Disney On Ice presents Spotlight Magic arrives at the Kia Center this September (the 4th through the 6th)—a fun extra Disney outing for anyone looking for something beyond the theme parks.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy host a sparkling, Hollywood-style celebration on the ice. The show brings more than 30 characters to life, including Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Zootopia 2 (with first-time appearances by Gazelle and Gary De’Snake), Stitch introducing Angel in her North American ice debut, plus moments from Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and Moana, along with a dramatic turn from the classic Disney villains.

The performances last roughly 90 minutes to two hours (with a short intermission) and run across six shows over the three days.

Content creator @ heyadriane just dropped what might be the best unsolicited Disney consulting session of the year — and it’s brilliant.

In her video, she nails the real problem with Jollywood Nights: it has the glamorous old-Hollywood aesthetic down (sequins, gold, cocktail dresses, fancy drinks), but it doesn’t actually feel like anything.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party works because it simulates Halloween. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party works because it feels like Christmas Eve. Jollywood just kind of… happens.
Her fix is simple and perfect: make every night New Year’s Eve.

Lean all the way in. Champagne cocktails, confetti, party horns, a full countdown at the Chinese Theatre with Mickey and Minnie in formalwear, a giant clock, gold-and-silver fireworks, and “Auld Lang Syne” blasting as the whole park celebrates together. Suddenly the whole vibe has purpose.

She even points out that Disney already invented this concept at Pleasure Island, where every night was New Year’s Eve — and people loved how delightfully over-the-top it was.
They wouldn’t even need to change the name. Just add a new tagline:
Jollywood Nights – Where Every Night Is New Year’s Eve.

Honestly? Disney should hire her!

LEGO Disney Princess: Magical Mayhem hits Disney+ tomorrow (August 21st).

In this third LEGO Disney Princess special, a rainy day turns chaotic when the princesses take in animals that quickly run amok—thanks to a mischievous villain. Teamwork (and a few sidekicks) save the day.

Original voices return, including Jodi Benson (Ariel), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel), Auliʻi Cravalho (Moana), Ming-Na Wen (Mulan), and Jim Cummings as the Cheshire Cat.

Now this deserved a Gloria Gaynor D23 style announcement!

EPCOT just quietly rolled out new wooden railing counters / standing tables right before the Food & Wine Festival begins again. They’re attached to the flowerbed railings, take up less space than regular high-tops, have a raised back edge so your food doesn’t slide into the plants, and come with a clear “no sitting” sticker.

Disney is adding them because the new solar-powered trash cans have rounded tops that no longer work as the classic makeshift festival tables. With seating always at a premium during Food & Wine, these counters are a small but welcome attempt to give guests somewhere official to set down their plates and drinks. 📸 @ middleaged. mainstreet

Michael Jackson fans are once again calling on Disney to revive Captain EO, the iconic 1986 3D space musical that starred the King of Pop.

The short film, directed by Francis Ford Coppola and executive produced by George Lucas, followed Captain EO and his ragtag crew of alien sidekicks on a mission to transform a dark world through music and dance. It ran at Disneyland, Epcot, and other parks from 1986 into the late 1990s before returning for a tribute run from 2010 to 2015 following Jackson’s passing.

Now, with the attraction’s 40th anniversary approaching and renewed interest sparked by the recent Michael Jackson biopic, multiple Change. org petitions are circulating. Fans are urging Disney Parks chairman Josh D’Amaro to bring the show back, even if only for a limited engagement.

One detail has some fans holding out extra hope: the return of Fuzzball.

The lovable, flying, red-furred sidekick—who perched on Captain EO’s shoulder and helped save the day—has reappeared as a new interactive plush at the Disney Store. The toy, released in mid-August 2026 as part of the 40th anniversary celebration, features chirping sounds and posable wings. For many longtime fans, seeing Fuzzball back on shelves feels like a small but meaningful signal that Disney hasn’t completely closed the door on the rest of the crew.

Whether the full Captain EO experience ever returns remains uncertain. But between the petitions, the anniversary, and Fuzzball’s unexpected comeback, the campaign is gaining fresh momentum.

Former Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde is firmly on Ariana Grande’s side. At D23 while promoting his new book Floating Mountains, he told EW he agrees the Hollywood Studios Tower of Terror is “a masterpiece” and “a classic” of design, storytelling, and ride technology.

Rohde, who oversaw the 2017 conversion of the California version into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!, said the Florida original is in a different league. He also shot down change rumors, noting he never heard any internal talk of giving Orlando the same Marvel treatment during his time at the company. The California update, he explained, was driven by very specific attendance and timing needs at that park.

Fans are once again calling for the classic Disney’s Sing-Along Songs series, the nostalgic VHS and DVD compilations from the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s hosted by Professor Owl and friends, to finally land on Disney+.

While the original volumes still aren’t available on the streaming service, Disney+ has released modern Sing-Along versions of full movies (complete with on-screen lyrics) for titles like Encanto, Moana, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, and Beauty and the Beast. On TikTok, creators such as @ mama.offinlalaland and @ disneyvhscollector have turned the request into a running campaign, regularly tagging Disney+ and keeping the pressure on for the old-school collections to make a comeback.
