In my years here in Lake City, I have never seen Alligator Lake disappear like this -- just a couple of puddles here and there. Wow!

Drive safely when encountering smoke around the area...

This is what driving conditions were like for a short stretch on U.S. 90 this morning in Lake City near the airport. Where's the smoke coming from? The 130-acre Gun Range Fire at the very southwestern tip of Osceola National Forest north of Watertown is responsible. It's burning in a dried swamp and producing heavy smoke. Since it was discovered on Sunday afternoon. Firefighters have been working to contain it on the ground and from the air, including helicopter water drops to cool hot spots and retardant drops from air tankers along Forest Service Road 217 on the western side of the fire. Please note that FS Road 217 is closed to the public to FS Road 250. FS Road 278 is also closed. Use caution and allow yourself extra time when driving in this area, especially in the early morning.

Well, it was a bit of an ordeal, but the Lake (and 3 of its sister stations) are FINALLY back on the air as of 9am on Wed., 3/25/26. See the previous FB post concerning how FPL took down at least 30 power customers north of I-10 for a day plus (no need to rehash that here). Anyway, WE ARE BACK!!! Thanks again for hangin' with us during something that was beyond our control, Lake listeners! Y'all ROCK!!!

Anybody else find it hard to believe that it's been 36 years. Wow! Released this date (January 15th) back in 1990. IMHO, this is Phil's best song of the "...But Seriously" album. Of course, Eric Clapton playing the guitar on this track MAY have affected my choice there... 😉😂

Phil Collins released the single "I Wish It Would Rain Down" from the album ...But Seriously.
This song is about a relationship that has passed, perhaps because of cheating, but the singer reflects on everything that was said, and still hangs onto their relationship, even though he knows his chances of ever seeing them back together are less than likely. This song was a #1 in Canada for 6 weeks, among other foreign Countries, and had a popular guitar part played by Eric Clapton and a lengthy music video which had actor Jeffrey Tambor as a musical director for a stage play harshly judging Phil's singing talent. In a BBS interview Collins said with his tongue very much in his cheek that this song, "is about a frustrated weatherman that regularly predicts rain showers but never gets it right."
