🚩Domestic violence isn't an anger management problem. It also cannot solely be blamed because of drug or alcohol use, as though use of inhibitors causes a person to be abusive. Domestic violence occurs because a perpetrator wants to control their victim, not because they cannot control their emotions. Violence occurs because it is a way to control their victim and place them in fear of leaving or seeking healthier options out beyond their current relationship. It is time to take off the rose-colored glasses and pull our heads out of the sand so that we can look at domestic violence for what it is: an abuser that is in full control of themselves and their actions when trying to control another person.
